I'm not really a Stans basher, however, I do question him often especially concerning substitution patterns and when to play zone or not. I've always heard that the true judge of a coach is how his teams performs in close games. Obviously with the games being so close, a coaching move here or there should sway the outcome. Well, based on that theory, here's the bad news:

Games decided by 5 points or less 2 wins 6 losses 25% winning percentage
Games decided by 10 points or less 9 wins 7 losses 56% winning percentage
Games decided by 11 points or more 8 wins 4 losses 67% winning percentage

The trend here is pretty obvious, unfortunately. Before anyone accuses me of McClurian math, the first column's numbers are included in the second column for an overall record of 17-11. </p>

of teams winning or losing close games would be experience/youth angle. Without crunching the numbers, I would wager that teams with younger players tend to lose close games while teams with primarily seniors and juniors win close games. I could be wrong, but I don't so.

....we have never been able to close out close games under him. We need a ten point lead down the stretch to win.
