There may be 4 new coaches in the SEC next year at Arkansas, Kentucky, Auburn and Tennessee. Chizik may survive and so may Dooley but I'm guessing atleast one of those two goes. What candidates have you heard rumored besides Petrino?

If I were Kentucky I'd match Auburn's offer. Don't be fooled... That school has bazillions of dollars to blow on athletics.

If not, I'd throw 2 mil at Western Kentucky's coach. Guy has done an incredible job and knows how to recruit Kentucky and surrounding states.

Auburn is going to make another terrible hire. If not I'd love to see ole Cutcliffe get an oppurtunity again. I've got a lot of respect for that guy.

Tennessee is going to hire some off-the-wall guy from the NFL. Hopefully it's Spags.

They certainly have the money to go after Petrino, but Auburn would have to be the more attractive job in his eyes. I'm not sure he'd want to return to the West or share the state with Nick Saban though.

Around what time will we start hearing Mullen to... rumors? I think we all know he is going to start showing up on some "short lists" soon. I hate that time of year.

Probably around week 10 or so in the season. There is an increasing trend for AD's to fire a coach before the season ends so that they can have a replacement announced as soon as possible. By that time most of their fates will have been decided, thus triggering the Mullen to (insert institution here) talk.

This is a horrible time for Arkansas to be in the market for a head coach. They need to hurry up and get Bobby "reformed" and "declared healed."

The rumor i am hearing in fayetteville is charlie strong. They want john l smith gone yesterday. And they want someone that knows defense.

Just in time for recruiting season.

I just hope we know our sanction from the NCAA by then. That's one more thing we don't need to have hangging around.

It's probably gonna take 3-9 for Auburn to fire Chizik. Even though they know he sucks, that 7.5 million dollar buyout will be hard to swallow.

Not if there are NCAA sanctions. Buyout goes to zero and they will can him. I'm not counting on that happening but if it does, he's as good as gone
