Where does the Telford not coming back comment come from?

As for my guess, I will say no way Terry doesn’t come back.

If Morningstar and Telford are gone I will guess Kemdawg and Cassioppi

What HWT coaches would be on the market or would we consider?

A lot of our recruits love M*. If there is a change with his position, he should be the recruiting coordinator. Then we can bring in a Jason Nolf (if he’s interested) or even a Mike Poeta? He does great with middle weights. Or who would you guys have in mind? Of course would love to bring in Nolf but we don’t even know if there is mutual interest.

My top two non-Iowa choices that I think are realistic would be Yianni and Dieringer. Not sure we need a HWT coach. Dieringer is big enough he could cover the upper weights.

I just don’t think Nolf is realistic but obviously he would be the golden goose.

He’s not doing anything any good car salesman couldn’t do. When he shows up to recruit A’s house and he can sell him new wrestling room, large fan base, $$$, historical power house wrestling school he’s selling a Porsche; when another school not named PSU, Okie st., Ohio st shows up all they have to sell is a Prius. That makes M* job that much easier. Throw him into a recruiter roll at any school I didn’t name and he’s just another Joe blow that nobody talks about how good of a recruiter he is.

Bob's gone, by his own choice. Hopefully M* sees that change is needed also. Terry to the HWC coaching freestyle is a homerun. I hope all that happens.
I read Bob and thought you meant Nicolls lol was really thinking dam, that hurts!
Im fine if M* sticks around, definitely more for recruiting as it sounds like that’s where he’s best. I sure hope Kem gets an offer, he’s one former hawk that seems like he could really help. And folks like to say Tom won’t listen to anyone, i think if there’s any truth to that he’s going to at least be a little more likely to listen to someone he coached and already has a good relationship with.

My 2 pennies: recruit and hire the best recruiters - that goes for any new coach top to bottom. Attracting the best wrestlers to IC is the whole ballgame IMO. Development is obviously an important component but you need the horses first …..like they say down south, “a mule ain’t never won the Kentucky Derby” 😁

All respect to M*, but I’ve never understood why so many around the program are so high on him. Recruiting to Iowa for wrestling should be one of the easier jobs in college sports but it’s been underwhelming overall for our standards and development of the middleweights has a lot of room for improvement.

Keegan O Toole is an assistant at Mizzou. He comes off as someone who will be a good coach, direct line to AWA kids as well. He Yianni and Nolf seem like good options

I want to see Kemm on staff badly. Very intelligent and great character. Also doesnt hurt to know a little about wrestling.

KOT has said recently that coaching was not really a goal of his, and he kinda fell into the position after Tyrell Todd left and he graduated. In the same interview he stated with being on staff his business school was essentially paid for by the school. He wants to become a CPA and open his own office. WIWrestle is where the interview took place with former Mizzou wrestler Jacob Rashika. So my opinion we may not see KOT coaching or wrestling in the not so distant future. I think he stays until Sinclair graduates for sure and maybe a year or two after at best.

My top three are Burroughs, nolf, and Kemmerer. I think all of them could relate to the best clubs in Iowa. Especially the up and coming HWA led by Alex. All 3 could relate to out of state top clubs. That’s where it all starts today. Recruiting. Top recruits means lots of wins which produces lots of donors. Pretty simple. Donors and ticket holders are not going to follow current coaching staff for much longer if at all. I appreciate everything this staff has done for Iowa wrestling, but it’s time for change before change isn’t even a factor.

And even if he is good (seems he's at least OK), we need a fresh exciting name to youngsters. By default, that helps recruiting alot AND gets a better offensive tactician to roll with and train guys.

I would throw as much money as possible at KOT if an assistant job is open. Askren favorite and very technical wrestler. Building the HWC back would do as much for recruiting as any coach imo. Add 2-3 world level guys. Getting Woods back and stealing Hidley would be a good start. Nolf would be a great hire but I don't think he would come for a 3-4th assistant job. Somebody (hopefully ISU) is going to get a really good coach when Carr joins a staff.

How do the guys who did not sign feel about M*?
