No, but he could be a great assistant if Terry goes to the HWC. There probably isn’t enough water for the bridge, thoughDo people on here still want schwab to take over after this years panther performance?

Happy to see you posting again. It’s been a REALLY ROUGH year on this board without guys like you. I hope all is as well as it can be for you and yours!I do consider Angelo an upset considering he has had injury issues the second part of the season and has been limited in how much he can wrestle--The staff took a chance having him default out of B1G which maybe cost him the 5 seed. That he has reached the semis is a credit to him and the staff. I think that he keeps himself in such good shape that a fall off doesn't affect him as much as most. He has another killer up next so we'll see.
I agree. He is proving to be a coaching genius. He is getting his guys to win the tough matches and get the upsets that people thought were impossible. I would way he has both wings of the bird. Coaching genius and the ability to recruit. He got 3 guys to the finals and won 2 titles last year including a win thought to be almost impossible before it happened. Pretty good start.
I do not think being able to spot talent is the weak spot of the top coaches. Willy is great at it and is in the information business, but dow anyone really think cael, TnT, and DT need Wilie telling them who is great. I think looking at the 17U/20U world team would give you a pretty good idea of who to recruit.I have always thought Willie would be great in some sort of recruiting advisory role. Say what you want about him, but the guy is very connected in the high school wrestling world and is a great ranker and just has an eye for spotting talent in recruits. Laugh all you want, but he would help Iowa dramatically in recruiting imo. He might be making enough money in social media to not want to be tied to any one program to unless it was Nebby![]()
Both matter. Gabe was 3 places ahead of Barr on the big board and look at them now. Everybody knew Vega would be good, but nobody understood that he would be this good with perhaps the exception of DT who went to work instantly to flip he and Rob. They both win titles as true freshmen. DT can recruit and develop talent. Cael 2.0I do not think being able to spot talent is the weak spot of the top coaches. Getting them to your school is the tough part. Every now and then there is a dark horse that comes out of no where to be a superstar in college, but they are few and far between.

you must not know Carl personally. he is a dogshit person. ask his best friend. he is in prison though and i am not allowed to say why on this board.Under grad at Iowa so I am alumni. Grad School ISU. I only became a PSU fan when Cael left. If Cael switched to Binghamton I would be a Binghamton fan.
Tom was presented with a fund raising opportunity a few years ago and his response was not how do we go about it and how can I help, it was simply go do it then.Being behind in financial backing is also Tom's doing. For one if he had been doing a lot more winning as a team and getting individual champs he would have a lot more people on the band wagon with their checkbook open. Also if a person doesn't enjoy the rigors of recruiting enough to help his own team be the best they can be he sure as hell isn't going to go through the rigors of recruiting financial donors very well either.
what i think, and what i've always thought was that Tom and Terry can coach their asses off.Willie honest question for you. Since we know T&T are both returning do you believe a change of assistants will help? Telford almost certainly is done & maybe Morningstar too. I feel like some fresh outside faces in that room could improve our guys
kids are as whimsical and pampered as ever.what i think, and what i've always thought was that Tom and Terry can coach their asses off.
the problem, imo, has been the changing landscape. it's no longer a toughness contest, and the kids are as whimsical and pampered as ever. TNT needed to adjust to that.
for the first time in a long time Iowa hit their marks or surpassed them) at NCAA's. so perhaps they've started to make the adjustments.
i've had a pretty contentious relationship with TNT. 100% loved them at times, 100% were pissed off at them. probably shot my mouth off more than i should have.
but i'm sincerely proud and happy for them for this performance.
Anyone have an idea when there’s an announcement on any coaching changes?
Press conference at 11am cst tomorrowAnyone have an idea when there’s an announcement on any coaching changes?
Is this Iowa related?
Stiebers time to take over if that's the case.I surely do not know. But for some reason my gut says it's Tom Ryan retiring. No idea why I think that. I might just be hungry. (I usually am!)
Tan Tom is calling it at tOSU

By everything I have heard, Jaggers is more fit for the job and already is the Associate Head Coach. I am not arguing the Stieber doesn’t have a bit more “star power”, but I am not sure how it would go if Jaggers got passed over for Stieber….Stiebers time to take over if that's the case.
I can't imagine they just hand the keys over without shooting for a bigger name. They are one of the top coaching spots see if you can buy back Kyle Snyder.By everything I have heard, Jaggers is more fit for the job and already is the Associate Head Coach. Lots of schools are willing to hire a head coach with a somewhat recent arrest for soliciting prostitutionI can't imagine they just hand the keys over without shooting for a bigger name. They are one of the top coaching spots see if you can buy back Kyle Snyder.

I may have forgot about his outside the sport hobby before I posted that.Wait is this a joke?
This was my initial thought as well. I have been wondering if he hangs it up after this year.I surely do not know. But for some reason my gut says it's Tom Ryan retiring. No idea why I think that. I might just be hungry. (I usually am!)
maybe one of the most important parts of recruiting is who NOT to recruitI do not think being able to spot talent is the weak spot of the top coaches. It's hilarious that they think coaches don't reach out asking opinions of this kid or that kid and does he fit . They just think we are little bald guys who dont sh*tmaybe one of the most important parts of recruiting is who NOT to recruit
I don't see Mineo posting that, I did see Cradle Zone, an Oklahoma guy, claiming Yianni to INDIANA.I’m sure mineo is trolling, but he posted the Yianni to Iowa rumor. So it won’t be happening
