"We're trying all kinds of combinations with the line," he said a couple of weeks ago. "What we've got to try to do is find a way to put the best five people on the field."
I barely have 5 guys I can work with, so if one of them goes down, I have to figure out how to get Jenkins or Looney in and move the other guys around because everyone else really blows.
Look over the soft asses of our cobbled together croomers on the OL and look into the eyes of an SEC middle linebacker? Would make me want to be a little slow with the mental aspects of the offense too.
behind these guys. Redshirt him, take the losses this year and move on. Its going to happen anyway, so why waste a year on him, and more importantly, risk him getting his head taken off. Basketball season can't get here soon enough.
that Croom 17 us on the OL. How an ex-All American college lineman could not recruit top notch lineman is truly amazing. This year's OL will make or break this season.
I remember sitting at Dave's drinking the only cold beer draft they had even tho they had 5 beers on tap only one was cold and watching Del play on open mic night.
Good Times
RIP man
Do any of you remember the Rum Drunks doing Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon (the ENTIRE album) at State Theatre on Halloween- I think maybe 2004? That was one of the best live shows I've ever seen- period***
Del and his imprint on the local music scene in Starkville is indeed sorely missed.</p>
If anything, you would have thought that Croom should have been able to recruit studs on the O-line but he was too darn lazy to do it. Of course, most of the stud recruits on offense realized that his scheme was about as effective as a screen door on a submarine. They didn't want any part of it.
