Good luck, finding it on The Coast. I've been here over 20 years, and have only experienced rare, seemingly accidental, goodness.
And if you decide to go for seafood, strongly consider Mary Mahoney's Old French House Restaurant, on the Biloxi Gulf Coast. https://www.marymahoneys.com/When looking for BBQ on the Coast, don't, skip that, go get seafood (orleans oysters at Halfshells), and wait til you are in Bham to get BBQ.
Who goes to the Coast to get BBQ? Weird
I don't know any good BBQ joints anywhere on any coast, because it's not where you go to get BBQ.
Stop at Leatha's in Hattiesburg if you want BBQ. Or get it at Petty's next time you're in Starkville. Or Saw's in Birmingham.
The Shed is over cooked, over sauced, and over priced. No idea on your other options but in my opinion you go to the coast for a shrimp or fried oyster poboy.
Murky Waters is the best on the coast... not much else to choose from
This is inexplicable to me. I always just assumed it was down there and only locals knew where to get it. How int he hell can a place the size of the coast supporting that many mediocre to bad barbecue joints not attract a good one?
I don't think I could do the restaurant business but that seems like an opportunity to print money.
