last weekend after we beat Alabama? He was asked what they were doing on the winning streak and he said "just having fun".

How do you or anyone else (outside of the players) know what Cohen is "intense" all the time with his team? Because Ron Polk told you?

If this were the barometer for a good coach, then Nick Saban would be the worst coach in the country.

Cohen's job is to win, how he acts when he does that is up to him.

You say you hate Cohen because of his in your face style but love Garrido? That is a terrible opinion.

Augie Garrido has been coaching a LOOONG time. I highly doubt he coached the way he does today always. Coaches mature over time and find what best works for them. Show me a guy that coaches one way his entire career, and you'll probably see someone that didn't get too far and doesn't have their own identity as a coach- it's probably something they got out of a book and have tried to mold themselves to the style. That may work some, but people know if you're faking. <div>
</div><div>Everyone has their own style, and there's certainly not one that is universally better than the other. It depends on who you are, who you're coaching, their age, etc. I wouldn't coach college the way I'd coach in the minors. Nor would I coach high school the way I'd coach college- maybe an intro to it, but </div>

I only know about the Florida player tripping over him last year. But Mingione was in his box watching the foul ball. I never thought that was Mingione's fault.
So what gives with Mingione?

Do you go to practice too?

I get you not liking his style but don't go making **** up.

Question: have you even considered that it is possible he is recruiting guys who flourish with this coaching style? Clearly you and your son would not. That doesn't make you or him a ***** and doesn't make Cohen a ****** coach. You have put all players into your mindset by saying it can't work long term. It wouldn't work long term for players who think like you. Fortunately for Cohen and for State, everyone is not like you.

There is only one major risk with Cohen's style. If you aren't also a damn good coach, the players and fans will get very tired of the intensity very fast. Just look at Mangino at Kansas. He goes on a losing streak and is still being an *******. It was an easy decision to fire him. Instead you could be the family man type like Stans and weather the storm of not meeting expectations for a while over an *******.

The players absolutely hated Cohen the first two years he was here. The players actually like him now because he has lightened up, and has tried to refrain from profanity. I know he still cusses some, but I also know that there was a rule against profanity during practice during the fall. He is a coach that demands the best out of his players, but he is also a coach that has his players' backs at all times and the guys like playing for him now. He is intense, but that is not a fault by itself.

And I'm OK with that. The one potential problem, as you mention, is if you overdo it and don't win big, people will eventually get tired of it.

Things like yelling "I got it" when his team hits a pop fly to the infield. He didn't intentionally trip the Florida player. He's at least smart enough to know that would be way too obvious, especially with TV cameras on him. But he did intentionally stay where the ball would come down, instead of leave the coach's box like he should have, knowing that there was a good chance he'd interfere with the play.

from playersthat were there during the first two years (not all where Polk guys either), other than observing him during games.I know that recruits weren't allowed around players without being witha coach out of fear what theplayers would say to the recruit.I assumed that he hadn't changed because most people don't. I only know one current player and I haven't talked to him but I understand that he isn't fond of Cohen.
