to fix all that is wrong with Mize State baseball.<div>
</div><div>Look, with Polk, we were always young and had to settle for one good year out of every 3 or 4. Why would we expect Cohen to have the baseball program "fixed" in just his 2nd season? I think we should defer judgement for another 2 seasons, but that's just my opinion. I do know that John Cohen has been a winner everywhere and I mean everywhere he has been on the coaching staff. I have complete confidence he will right the ship at State.</div><div>

About a coach who has a career 72-108 record in SEC play after today..

I guess my eyes deceived me, because the SEC career numbers aren't great as you point out. But...did he not build lowly Kentucky up to the level of regular season champs before he left there? You know UK wasn't much to brag about when he took over the program, They were quite good at least 2 years under Cohen's watch though. Then, he takes over an absolutely talentless, putrid MSU program. So, thus far he hasn't won at State. I do think he will win though. If he can turn UK around, he darned sure can turn MSU around. Is it his fault that he inherited such a cluster17 in Starkville? Heck, he had twice the talent back when he was coaching Northwestern (La) State.

Cohen had a record of 200 wins, 141 losses for 5 full seasons at UK and 1 full season at State. He had 1 really bad year at UK early on and 1 almost .500 season to go with a crappy 1st year at State. It's early. I'll throw him under the bus if we still stink in year #4 under Cohen, but not before. I think State will be quite good by Cohen's 4th season.

Then I hope that in the future we will perform much better in out of conference play since Cohen has won exactly 40% of his conference games in the SEC, not to mention the fact that he has only been to 2 regionals and 0 super regionalsin 10 fulls seasons as a head coach coming into this year. That includes 2006 when he won the SEC championship and was unable to advance to a super regional. Just saying. Hopefully his coaching trends will not continue.

I guess time will tell. Now if he just doesn't go batshit crazy on us if and when he is shown the door...

Mississippi Valley State are included in that 200win total? I think someone posted on here earlier he has a .400 winning percentage in conference play as a head coach, so you can wipe off those patsy games against the Southeastern Louisiana's of the world . Oh, wait a minute. Southeastern Louisiana sweep us </p>
