I turned on the radio to hear him say, "I think he qualifies for Mississippi State." He then talked about bad radio interviews. No idea who "he" is or what the conversation was about.

Is there some factual basis for this statement or is this mere conjecture...like every other "analysts" assessment of the situation.

said that he has a rule of thumb- If you arent smart enough to get into an SEC school to play football, then he won't interview you live on the radio- because SEC schools will let anybody in that can play.

"If you can run a 4.2 forty and can't get into an SEC school, then i'm not going live. I'll interview any Notre Dame graduate, no questions asked. But if you cant get into an SEC school no way. My son is 3 1/2 and he qualifies at Miss State"

I heard that driving to lunch. He knows nothing about state except the fact that it is in Mississippi and is in the SEC. That rule of his that he was talking about is 17in stupid.. 17 him

If that comment pissed you off that badly, just be thankful to 'Touchdown Jesus' you aren't a Notre Dame fan. Cowherd rips them on almost a daily basis.

He is very condescending in general, and his comment today is just an example. He acts like he knows what he's talking about, when it is so often obvious that he doesn't have a clue, and that you are simply a lost cause if you don't see it his way. He isn't really a fan of anyone it seems, just whoever the flavor of the month happens to be. And most of all, he often talks about not doing something like going to a game because he doesn't want to be around other people, usually because he just couldn't subject himself to being around (fill in the blank).

As you can see, I have never really like Cowherd's high-and-mighty, better-than-you act.</p>

actually if you really think about it it is a backhanded compliment. He says if you aren't smart enough to get into an SEC school he wouldn't think about it. That means SEC, i.e. State, he would think about. However, a non BCS school like USM or La Tech don't make the cut.

On some level he is correct. If he had said Ole Miss we would be yuckin it up and quite honestly I don't really want Anthony Dixon giving radio interviews for my alma mater based on some of his post game interviews.

The truth of the matter is he is right - If you are great you will get in the SEC look at Powe, Dontae Jones or Walker, Eddie Strong, Pig the list goes on and on. None of them deserve to be in the classroom but they are great athletes so they get in - they would never get in Vandy, UVA, Duke, or ND that's all he was really saying. He avoids what the interviewer got at the end of the UK game.

I'm still trying to figure out why they gave him a tv show, he has a face made for radio.

A rougue scholar might have a difficult time at a spelling bee. Rogues, on the other hand, are natural spellers.
