Holy crap @ LSU's attendance. Blowing everyone out of the water once again.

Ole Miss's is impressive. Due to being ranked well for sure. Was that TCU matchup a home game?

The state of Mississippi comes in a #2, #6, and #12. Almost the highest college baseball attendance of any state -about 16,500 combined per game. Texas pulls in (not surprisingly) about 24K between UT, aTm, TT, Baylor, TCU, and Rice. Louisiana gets about 17,000 (LSU, Tulane, ULL, La-Monroe), Alabama appears to be a far 4th, and gets about 8,500 between Alabama, Auburn, Troy, and South Alabama. By per capita standards I'm sure it's absurdly in our favor.

I am almost positive it is paid... I had a college friend of mine that goes there and said those numbers surely can't be true if its actual. So I'm assuming its paid attendance and a lot of schools will show just paid instead of actual until SEC play comes around.

I have watched every game so far this season on Hailstate TV and no way our average attendance is that high. No way that is actually asses in the seats.

Just asking? Paid vs Paid.

I was in Oxford Saturday, and drove by the stadium. They had quite a few cars parked near the stadium.
Also, they had a Basketballgame underway, possibly they went to the Baseball game afterward.

crowd the past 2 weekends. Crowds have been pretty small. I would be shocked if we broke 2500 actual attendance in any game so far.

There is a simple solution to this- have teams report both paid and then actual attendance.

Our attendance should get better as the team continues to do well. I think the football team may have "hurt" the baseball season ticket sales because they are doing well and with the economy the way it is and people having to join the Bulldog Club to get football tickets, I could see where a lot of people would say- "Hey, we've got to save money somewhere".

Also, at Ole Miss, a lot of their fans may not be real happy with their football team- but their baseball team is ranked. So, I could see where some of their fans would choose that over football.

Back to us- we need to aggressively market the baseball team better. I didn't see any billboards before the season started like you do for football and basketball. I did see the SR billboard, but we need one a little bit closer to the beginning of the year.

We were 2nd (4th in total #'s) in attendance last year, despite having fewer home games than alot of the top 15 teams, and we were pretty ****** last year.

We draw big for baseball since renovations, expansion and because coolers are allowed in the outfield and smokin hot *** in sundresses is encouraged. It really doesn't matter if we are ranked or not.

I sat in the student section at Ole Miss all of last weekend and I'd say there were probably 4k students Friday and Saturday. It was just as packed as it gets for LSU....not quite to regional level. The stands couldn't have had more than 1k in them though. Left field probably had another 1-2k. They don't keep track of the number of students who enter the game though, so who knows how they count them.

I think some count attendance as paid tickets so if you are a season ticket holder you get counted every game whether you are there or not. We count only those that enter the gates

They take season tickets and add a guesstimate of unpaid attendance in the outfield. Didn't we have a discussion about this a couple of years ago?

Neither paid nor actual. It's a friggin' combination of what we've recorded so far:
WSU-6141
WSU-N/A
WSU-6006
KU-5817
MVSU-N/A
KU-3050
MVSU-5806

Averages out to 5.3k and change.
Honestly, we should never report less than paid attendance. If anything, we should report season tickets plus walk-ups. Someone is falling down on the job.

Didn't make the SEC tournament. Was that 1 year or 2 after fumbling away a trip to Omaha?

We missed the SEC tournament and NCAA tournament last year, but we entered the final day of the regular season with a chance to share the West. Last year was Bianco's worst team though.

And it was two years after the lost Super at home against UVA.

For the second game Saturday, a new person was working the scoring computer

He keyed in the wrong number (actual instead of paid) ... The correction has been sent to the NCAA

The next attendance report will be updated to reflect that correction

Per NCAA rules, all Division I schools required to submit paid attendance figures to the NCAA
