Illinois is the best job. The other three have almost no national appeal and limited regional appeal. In other words, we will all know what Illinois is doing and to some degree we are all waiting for them to act, but there will be little interest outside of those other three states in who gets the other jobs. None of them is significantly better or worse than the others, although I like how we stack up.

out there and only 4 Big6 schools looking for a replacement. Looks like this was a good year to have an opening. I'd put the MSU job ahead of Nebraska and USCe. This isn't football.

I've liked their past two hires but they've not done well/have had little basketball tradition. They are in the Big 10 though.

If the MSU job is not considered better than the South Carolina job then we have fallen even further than I thought.

I think prospective coaches also have to look at who they will be competing against. Illinois and Nebraska have to contend with Mich. St, Michigan, Purdue, Ohio St., Minnesota, and Indiana. MSU has to compete with Kentucky, Florida, and a bunch of fairly mediocre teams with the possible exceptions of Missouri and occasionally Vandy.

How good a job is is about more than just wins and losses. It's about location, facilities, fan support, salary, and resources, too. I certainly don't think our job is seen as being below USC or Nebraska nationally, but I don't think it's seen as being any better either. The Illinois job is the best one out there and the MSU, USC and NU jobs are all about the same.

South Carolina has been to only 4 NCAA tournaments in the last 38 years. Their arena is empty nearly every time I see it. I just don't see them being on an equal footing with MSU.........of course I am a tad biased.
