Clemson fan here. Every year on our bye week a group friends hit up a college we have never been to before. In the last three years we have seen Lsu, Texas, Colorado. This year it looks like we will be in Lincoln for the Purdue game on the 22nd. I've been researching the tailgate/parking situation around the stadium and the first thing I read is that alcohol is restricted on state property. Can someone please give me just a short 411 on parking and tailgating on gameday? Do lots open early in the morning regardless of game time? Is alcohol permitted? I have seen that there is a restriction on grills in certain areas but is that true for all parking near the stadium? If we can grill, drink, and watch some football everything will be good. Plus Purdue shouldn't even be a good game. I mean, I know they beat us last year (God how embarrassing) but there will be better games in the future.
I have never once had an issue with alcohol while tailgating in Lincoln. Red cups or koozies. As long as you are not incredibly drunk and making a scene, you are good.
Our lot is about 6 blocks from the stadium and there is plenty of room. I'm pretty sure that each space is $20. Alcohol & grilling are not a problem. We have a blast. We are in the Festival Parking Lot. Just to the north of Pinnacle Bank Arena & just south of HayMarket Park Ball field.

I live about 15 minutes from Folsom Field and can't bring myself to go to games anymore. I do follow CU basketball, but the football games are like going to a funeral. Beautiful venue, but not much happening on the field.

One of our crew had just moved out there. Rented a mountain house in golden for a few days. Did a day in Denver, a day in Boulder, really enjoyed our time on the mountain. Game sucked but we took over goose bar for the day. Had a lot of fun there with their outdoor setup. We were there in mid September. Perfect weather.
Look on craigslist for a parking pass to lot seven or lot 11… Both are super fun. Drinking is not a problem at all and neither of those lots… Bottles cans red cups shots it doesn't matter. It's all OK. You can probably get a parking pass for one of those lots for $50-$100. The lots themselves will be open whenever. You can also look up Blur Parties… They are in a great section for tailgating and I think it's $40 for all-you-can-eat and all you can drink… It is right across from the stadium and they have TVs set up and everything. You can also look for champions club passes on craigslist you can probably get those for about $40… It's literally right across the street from the stadium it's at 20 foot walk into the stadium and they have TVs and they serve beer and booze and food and they have tailgating.
You will not be disappointed in the tailgating. I have never used a red cup or a coozie. You will find many welcoming group to share a beer, cocktail food and love of college football. Most say the experience is the best they have ever had for college football.

Sometimes lot 7 has extra spaces available. I have seen RV's from other teams come in there (just down from our location). And pretty much anything goes in there. But you get passes for people now with your parking permit. I like it because all the freeloading drunks don't overcrowd it like before. And you can go to the game without a bunch of idiots emptying all the coolers.
You will LOVE taking in a game in Lincoln! ...nothing quite like it. Be sure to get a list from this site of things to do on a game weekend. I'm not the greatest resource for that - can any of you provide this guy with "must do's" on game weekend? Do some of that stuff. Thanks for coming!
I'm sure if you were there in the 1990's you enjoyed it more but Boulder was one of the best beautiful venues besides Seattle and Pasadena that I have seen in my travels going to Nebraska games and I would like to go again we play them in a few more years in Boulder.
