I disagree. I know Colin is not a finished product, but I'd rather invest in him as I feel it way pay off 3 fold when we need it the most later down the road.

I want to see him develop, just like Jasper.
Very few guys develop into star players over the course of their 4 years. You are either an NBA player as a freshman or you are not. Can Chandler end up as a serviceable player ? yes, Is he an SEC starter now?? Absolutely not, and he will never sniff an NBA contract. His ceiling is serviceable. UK shouldn’t be starting that.
Jasper has way more chance to be a better player down the road.

Collin Chandler is a good college basketball player who can sometimes poster the hell out of someone. However, Collin Chandler is not a point guard, and he is not a Final Four–caliber shooting guard either. He has a very slow jump shot, but he is athletic—like a worse version of Otega Oweh (at least for now).

In big games against the best competition, you need someone like Kobe Brea, who can fly off screens with a trailing defender and quickly shoot a pure jumper with lots of confidence, or create his own shot. That is not Chandler’s game at all. If we want to compete for a title this season and next, we need to move on from the Chandler experiment at the 1–2 and get a proper point guard and a proper shooting guard. He can only ever be a backup, athletic wing, glue guy who can knock down wide open shots. That's his role.
My assessment so far is Chandler’s a taller and more athletic version of Reed Sheppard…

You sound ridiculous. Player development is and always has been a thing.

Reed Sheppard is way more cool headed then Chandler, and much better under pressure. Far better in game shooter, then Chandler. That is my assessment. I hope Chandler comes around and can be even close to what Reed is.

Chandler seems very frustrated. IMO he should be. My guess: he is frustrated with playing with 3 guys that are somewhat 'get mine' first - Oweh, Aberdeen and Mo D - and the team and his game are suffering because of it. I believe having three primary players that play like this is a major reason for the teams offensive issues. All a defense has to do is watch us dribble. And this is also why its night and day different when Lowe comes in.
I had not thought about that, but it makes sense. I am puzzled that we almost never go inside out with passes. When was the last time you saw Oweh, Aberdeen or Diabute drive then pass it out to someone for an uncontested three? I thought of that when a few games ago Noah got two assists on threes by driving then passing out (once to Oweh). I wondered is he thought, why does this never happen for me?

This is kind of the main point I was trying to make. There is a reason Reed is in the NBA playing next to KD right now, he was the final-four caliber 1-2 guard. I would put Chandler next to him, not in the same role. I personally, would want Pope to go out and get another Reed to play with Chandler, instead of Pope trying to use CC as a scoring/shooting guard. I don't like CC having a huge offensive load night in and night out.
