Zach Sterup will start at right guard Saturday against Michigan State, and Nick Gates will return from injury and start at right tackle. Riley said that Sterup has been playing well and deserves the opportunity to start against the Spartans. “He’s been playing well, and he’s smart, and he looks pretty comfortable,” Riley said.

Wait, what happened to our starting guard? Did he get beat out by Sterup who was filling in for an injured Gates at tackle? The logic makes no sense when we don't even know how good our 2nd string OG is because they don't rotate.

it doesn't matter ... the starting Oline is the least talented group Neb has fielded in the modern era ... absolutely atrocious

Gates is the only one with any potential at this point and apparently none of the other underclassmen are pushing for playing time

not a single player even close to sniffing honorable mention all conference

Obviously the staff doesn't think as highly of Foster as many of us do.

In case you hadn't noticed our guards have been less than consistent. I'm being nice. Sterup has worked at guard and they're comfortable with him there. They think he will actually perform better at guard than he did in space at tackle.

Alex Boone, also 6'8 has had a pretty good pro career at guard with the 49'ers after being a tackle at Ohio State.

They spend more time moon-walking than Michael Jackson did. Watch just about any other line, and then watch ours. Bonus points for not throwing up.

Just another bullet point in the long list of confusion from the staff.

For Alex Boone's sake, please don't compare him to Sterup. Need to be longer than 6'8" to reach that far

Actually think it's a better fit for Sterup at guard, he doesn't quite have the speed that a tackle needs.

I am glad Kondolo is going to sit. I was high on him coming into the season, but he has played poorly to say the least. He does not finish blocks and gets beat in pass pro often.

So let me get this straight. The last month or so you are b+tching and moaning because they won't make a change in the Oline. Now they make a move to replace Kondolo because Kondolo isn't producing with someone who is the most experienced backup and apparently the one they believe most capable to replace him at the guard spot and you all are pissed about that? By the way, I am pretty sure Pelini's teams rotated players between guard and tackle at times so if that's the beef then I'm really confused about what has your panty's in a wad over this.

For someone that whined incessantly whenever a reporter dared point out issue after issue that Bo brought upon himself.... I find the idea of you (of all people) questioning a coaching staff ansolutely hysterical. Nope, no agenda here! :)

I think it's hilarious when fans say "we don't even know how good our 2nd string ... is". Maybe you fan don't know, but the coaches see the 2nd string guy every day. They have a very good idea.

Actually I have no agenda other than to talk about nebraska football on a message board for fans. Jirk the Derk, on the other hand, his agenda was clear. Especially when he shows up at YS to do another hatchett job on Pelini. BTW, I am not a Boliever....I wanted him gone. However I am not a "professional" journalist whereas Jirk is. I would expect more of him.

Lol. Cool story. So much spin, and still wetting your Pelini underoos and blaming media for writing the TRUTH. Maybe some day Blo will catch a break, the world will stop being out to get him.

It's not his fault. Bo spent a considerable amount of energizing making sure everyone knew his opinion about Dirk. Of course the result is there are fans of Nebraska who agree with him.
