Hopefully I'm not cursing myself here, but my Comcast feed is not having issues.

problems a year or so ago. Called them and they sent a guy out, said he fixed it, left and it went right back to bad pic. Called on a Sunday to complain, they sent a young hungry repair guy out, he found and showed me a crappy splice @ the box on the street, fixed it and no probs since.

FOX. And it was atrocious.

ESPN has it because they offered the most money. The "major networks" could have had it if the ponied up.

DirectTv. Perfect 60" 1080p here. You can see the tag numbers on the vehicles in the parking lot from the shots down from the blimp.

No problems there but that was the worse BCS championship game ever. Stop watching at the end of the third and started watching the Movie Tora Tora Tora on the military channel.

Who cares if 3 times per year under the heaviest of thunderstorms that the picture goes out for 5 minutes.

Life is to short to deal with cable TV, much less Comcast of all people.

DirecTV all the way. End of discussion.

FYI, I had not problems last night and never have with Comcast, except for the size of my bill each month..

We live on the Reservoir as well and the game could not be watched on ESPNHD last night. I have had two technicians to the house since they added the new HD channels back in Oct/Nov. I thought this problem was "my" problem and it needed personal service. Apparently this problem is larger than that. I have had problems with ESPNHD since the addition of the new tier of HD channels and it appears to be the only channel having this issue (might only be because this is the one I watch the most).

I sent an email to the two addresses provided earlier in this thread...maybe something will come of it...If not, looks like I'll be switching to a dish of some sort soon....or maybe Uverse....

Once, (once!, repeats Houston Nutt) We had a game on CSS that I couldn't get on DirecTV. The other 363 1/2 days of the year I am glad I don't have Comcast.

After sending the email this morning I received a call from Comcast stating that they are looking into the situation and would update before the end of the day. Kudos for their response now we will see if the issue is fixable.

Since then I have heard from several that live over in Brandon (North Brandon Estates area) that had similar issues last night (had to watch it in SD) and have had intermittent issues for a while...sounds like it may be more of a "hub" issue instead of anything localized.

Comcast rep called yesterday afternoon and said they found an issue with a hub in "our" area (Reservoir) and the issues we were having with ESPNHD should be resolved. Since I wasn't at home at the time I couldn't confirm. They were going to call back again today to check on it. I got to watch a little last night and I didn't see anything similar to what I had been seeing so maybe it is fixed. Probably won't know until there is another big event on ESPNHD where multiple households are tuned in at the same time. I doubt there were many households in my neighborhood watching UF/UGA and OSU/Illinois last night.

While it is hard to understand how so many people have called with a similar complaint and they haven't figured out there was a problem with a hub instead of with individual households baffles me. One other thing...fixed or not...the response from Comcast so far this time has been great.

Thats good to know. I just hate calling them, because you have to waste the first 10 minutes answering their script for dummies. No, I'm not unplugging my modem/cable box. I've already done that, it does NOT fix the problem. Half the time when you get beyond that all they can do is send someone out where half the time they don't show up.

I was shocked to answer the phone last night as I pulled in the driveway and hear a Comcast technician greet me. We went over what happened and they acknowledged it was a problem and they were dealing with it. I had another issue on a new line we just put in and the on demand for that box not working. Between 10-12 Thursday they will be out to take care of the problems. Maybe the higher ups have realized that the commercials mocking them are actually how their company treats customers and trying to make a difference. Anyway it's a much better experience than what I have had with them in the past.

And I still hear them all the time as this thread is proof.

Keep your damn CSS channel. So far, I've been able to watch every CSS game on ESPN3. I'll bet my damn ESPN3 feed is better than that comcast ****.

because I can't get what is obviously some sort of Birmingham public access channel masquerading as a legitimate sports provider, I can live with it.
