If he has a chance at this job, he MUST win over the people in the interview and show some humility. If he goes in there abrasive and with no remorse on any of his decisions, the committee will just move along to the next guy.Neal Brown: Blah blah, you can't expect top 4 results..Blah blah... with bottom 4 resources, blah blah blah.
Rich Rod: Hold my beer!

Honestly, the only thing Baker should be worried about is the DONORS. In the era of NIL, if you piss them off, good luck getting money for GOOD players. The split fan base is probably a red flag for Wren. Even though it makes sense on a lot of levels to give him a shot at redemption, it may not happen. I hope it does tho!!
If we don't have a coach by Christmas........then expect the next 4-6 years to be some of the worst in WVU football history. Is there a split fanbase right now as it pertains to RR? I know most don't want Jimbo so don't include him on response. I'm as anti RR as it gets and my circle of friends and family I talk to are similar to me with the thought if he does get the job, we will support him as the coach as we are loyal to our school and team. I see that mostly on this board as well. I will be in WV after Christmas and will get the firsthand feel then but hopefully a coach will be named before then.
Who could this be....

Hopefully he picked up some country roads trust beer!Well, he's probably happy to not have to only shop at Ingles Markets in the South. :joy:
Fans support ONE THING = WINNING.The only place I've seen it was some comments below a post hoppy made. Some fans saying no way they would never support Rich. But this is a touchy subject and I think after some press conferences and a proper apology, the holdouts will change their minds. The key in all of it is winning. If Rich comes back he will have to win and I believe he will.

Regardless of who the head coach is, fans support the team and winning. I don't think fan displeasures should factor in to any decision. If Rod wins, the team will get cheered. Who cares if he does?
In my honest opinion.......there is only ONE coach that has the hype to be able to capitalize on the situation and rejuvenate the program. He will win if he comes back, imo. I can see a big turnaround compared to the last 6 years. With the most popular sports podcaster in his corner, the hype will be there. Recruits will come here. The facilities are top notch. The time is now.

I say no to RR too. But if it is between those two, I prefer RR. Jimbo is simply not a good coach. But again, I have no say and once hired, I will be supportive regardless who it is.I say no to Rich Rod. Not everyone wants him. Only the most vocal. Sorry. Jimbo has been more successful. The last time Rich was relevant was well before Jimbo won a national title. If concerns are over previous academic reports, don’t we have a strong academic team in place to support? Just sayin.
He has had more success than Rich, both winning a title and having a winning record in the toughest division in football, but I understand your concerns. I kind of hope it’s neither I guess. Find the DeVries of CFB. Can’t be that hard to strike lightning twice in the major sports, right?? LolI say no to RR too. But if it is between those two, I prefer RR. Jimbo was fortunate at FSU. He left that program in horrible shape. He was disappointing at A&M with unlimited resources and a hotbed for recruiting. He would have neither at WVU. Jimbo has never been a DCWhy think so small? Saban will be head coach, RR offensive coordinator, and Jimbo for DC. Done deal!
Don Nehlen = Special Teams Coach (teach everyone how NOT to have a punt blocked against Miami)Why think so small? Saban will be head coach, RR offensive coordinator, and Jimbo for DC. Done deal!

And even bring back Dana Holgerson.......he can clean the toilets.
