I won't. Claims have been made he's best coach out there and now there is transfer portal and NIL makes it that much easier to get players plus majority of the best players are so far staying as are the recruits. Win 8 or you fail.

First year Big 12 coaches
Joey McGuire 8-5
Sonny Dykes 10-2 (National Championship game)
Kalani Sitake 9-4
Chris Klieman 8-5

If he fails to win 8 games, then you obviously have to sign him to an extension. He deserves the Brown treatment at the very least. Brown did nothing good for WVU except blow smoke up everyone's asses, but Rod has done great things for WVU. The best WVU memories are because of Rich. The less games Rich wins, the more excuses Hoppy, Caridi and everyone else should be making and the bigger his extension and buyout should be, right?

And if Rich Rod is failing badly, anyone who criticizes him is a fake fan and all kinds of bad insult names. Can't forget that part. Fans who want better are bad fans in the Brown world.

Don't you think every coach deserves the Brown treatment?

Spanish? Not Mexican? Spanish makes you a white European colonizer and thus villian. Mexican makes you a noble, victimized, indigenous person and thus hero.

They are talking about it on the radio during metro news sports line. It's a great thing. They're talking about how Pat McAfee influence will make WVU cool and help with money and recruiting.

We will be a household name soon...

That’s awesome. Pat is constantly putting us out there. He may have missed a couple field goals against sPITT but I think he will make a huge difference with the programs future.

I'm expecting RR to get many players in the portal this year. However, I will remain pessimistic on 2025 results. I hope I am dead wrong with my pessimism.

You think he coaches in Jax states bowl game Friday?
No idea but I hope so. Those kids and program deserves their coach. Nothing is needed in Morgantown this week. He can make phone calls for the new job and prepare his team for the bowl. But typically my opinion is too Pollyanna for the real world

Just like any coach he should get 3 years minimum. If WVU is not improved mucg at all as a program by that point, then it's time to move on. No more of this it takes 5 years crap.
No he shouldn't. With NIL, Transfer Portal and players getting paid a share you should win first year. This will be the most resources and money backing that any coach has ever had. He should never have less than 8 wins.

He's suppose to be the best then prove it.

So why does Neal not get this ultimatum until 4-5 years in, buy RR has it in year 1? It's dumb to think a coach takes more than 3 years to start moving a program like WVU into conference championship competition. It is equally dumb to EXPECT any coach inheriting a roster from a 6-6 team to suddenly start winning 8 or more games. He might, but it shouldn't be the minimum.

Either way, since he is a retread I bet Wren will be in his ear to win quickly.

Neal's not here. He was fired remember. Plus a different AD hired him and handcuffed the program.

Rod has more years experience. Knows what it takes at WVU. Has more money and resources than ever before.

He can have 3 years I don't care but should win no less than 8 every year. That's my expectations. But I have no fire or hire power.

Some "fans" on here are butt hurt either because they hate Rich Rod or they wanted to keep Brown.

Talking about butts again are you. What is it with you about dicks and butts?

Not that there is anything wrong with that? Do you recognize as a woman, dog or cat?

I wanted Clown fired, but do not think it is a good idea to bring Fraud back. Second acts like Bobby Petrino and Johnny Majors do not work. The fact that we are taking sloppy seconds speaks volumes on how far WVU has fallen.

Rich rod was the best coach at Arizona since the 80s or beyond. He took them to 5 bowl games, one of their only 3 fiesta bowls and 10 win seasons in program history. When he left they fell off bad. He only had one down year there and it was because he lost his QB and had a bunch of injuries. It was a rebuild year. Otherwise, he did more than anyone else ever did at a non football school that is hard to recruit to. Arizona fans would love to have him back.

Rich rod recruited and/or coached up Shaun King, Woody Danzler, Rasheed Marshall, Pat White, Denard Robinson, Anu Soloman, Huff from Jst and more. He creates lightning in a bottle and its not just Pat White. We just landed a helluva coach!

I also think he wants to right the ship!! This will be where he retires. I believe that.

Fair enough. It may end up being 9-11 imo.
Being in Big 12 he should compete for title every year. After all everyone keeps saying Big 12 is weak.

Edit: You forgot to say Rod will be have the most wins of any WVU coach ever. He just needs what, 90 more.
