Pretty good game from the Dawgs today.

Sure wish they had one shooter to go to down the stretch to steal this one.

that 5 minutes into the 2nd half I believe, we hadn't made a jump shot. All our points had come off layups or free throws. That stat there tells you just how bad a shooting team we are. Get a couple of shooters with Sword and Ware and we would have a pretty good team.

Jalen Steele would have helped this team immensely. It's too bad he left the program.

Actually my favorite comment was a question as to why our students were seated where they are.

There are several things that need help in our basketball program that players that have been let go or former coaches wouldn't fix immediately, but a couple of jump shooters would definitely get us out of the bottom third of the conference.

I know we aren't winning games but the Hump used to be deafening even over the TV when we took the lead over a team like Kentucky.

The year Florida won its 2nd national title a reporter asked Joakim Noah the toughest road environment he played in and he said the Hump. Said it was the loudest arena the Gators played in that season. Hopefully Ray will bring those days back to the Hump, but the jury is still out.

I was at the game. A very boring atmosphere - nothing like it use to be. Glanced around and most fans were looking at their phones instead of the game (wouldn't even know if we took a lead). However, I don't blame them - we are boring to watch. We have nobody that can shoot at all. Like you said, forget all the arguments about coaches, etc. - please put a product out there that fans want to come watch. I was bored and was actually watching the clock to hope it ends soon so I could go eat and drink a beer. I had to be in Starkville, but I will not make a special trip to see us play.

...and as long as we have fans that only want to be at the game if we are going to win, THAT is why the atmosphere will always be better remembered "back when". if you can't root for your alma mater any time, why even bother some of the time? go be a fan of the game if nothing else. go, be loud, stand... make those idiots behind you mad that they have to stand at some point. screw 'em.

then again, i should be used to hearing this by now. i've been around State going into 30 years now.... and it's always the same. everyone spends football and basketball season counting the days until baseball starts. that's fine. that fits the crowd better, not much requirement for cheering in that sport. much more relaxed atmosphere... kick back, chit-chat, watch a play or two.

That's pretty much sports in general and not just exclusive to State. If you aren't good, people don't go. It's not rocket science.
