We'll probably end up around the upper teens, which is about typical for us. Nobody has had much complaint about Beamer's recruiting. He's done about the same as all the coaches before him.

We all know who our biggest recruits will be, and it’s certain spots already on the roster.
What if we were able to keep those here and flip a guy like Zion Elee?
The past 3 games show we do have some talent here, but can we get the most out of it?
Last draft was one of the best we have had as a program. That was going to be tough to replace, especially the leadership we had from those guys. Emmanwori was a huge loss in that department.
We haven’t quite reached the level and depth needed to just consistently replace a class like that…..yet.
Therein lies the issue, million dollar question, and one that has eluded every other coach that has tried before Shane.

I am not sure why it would be a surprise when all of this years recruits can simply enter the portal next year and move to more fertile ($$$) grounds once they've shown what they can do. At this point its all about the portal and not really recruiting.

If Beamer really wanted to beef up next year's team, he could give up a year of his salary and put it towards recruiting/portal additions.

They’re both important. If the current team doesn’t jump ship and they stay together, both recruiting and the roster are in relatively good shape. Best case scenario is the majority of the team stays intact, and quality depth is added in the portal. Unfortunately, most of the transfer class this year disappointed outside of Cisse.

We need good offensive coaches. We have done less with more for years on offense.

I know this isn’t aging well. If you followed Amari Thomas’ recruitment you knew this was very likely though. Kid has been back and forth the whole time.

I should have added the smiley face. I was just joking around with you.

All good. Honestly I don’t care about Thomas de committing. Undersized rb when fairly capable backs are a dime a dozen in the portal. Too much drama around his recruitment. Much rather hang on to guys like Guiles, Gray, Currence, Barnes etc who have shown solidarity.

His decommit raised our ranking lol. He wasn't going to have any impact in the short term. RB isn't the problem right now.

Oh yeah, that guy was never going to stick. I dont care enough, but would love to peek 3 years in the future and follow up in where he eventually lays for his third school.

You know, if we look back on Spurrier's time here... We were mostly mediocre the first 5 years. It was more of the entire program just not being up to SEC par, but the record over that amount of time was eerily similar, including 1-3 in bowl games. Then came the big gets in Lattimore and Clowney, both arguably the top recruits in the 2010/2011 classes. This team really is a piece or two and a competent OC away from being in the playoff picture every year. I don't think this was the guy to help with that because it seems like he's a total ME guy, but a couple of pieces fall into place and we're looking at much better results.
