If a "committed" player has stated that they are not taking anymore visits or meetings with coaches from other institutes, then that is a commitment. If a "committed" player has stated that they are going to take more official visits and allow coaches from other institutes, then they are not committed. I don't understand why everybody gets pissed about the "losing commitments", because in all actuality they are still on the market. 17ing Rivals and Scout run with this ****, because they themselves don't understand the meaning of the word. For some of the simpletons on this board, try this. If a girl you have been going out with tells you that she wants this relationship to be exclusive and that she is "committed" to YOU, however she heads to the Bulldog and is balling Mr. Meoff in a dark corner the next night.....she's not "committed", she's a *****!!!!

I hope that everyone on this board has learned something this recruiting season, and that is 17 the word "committed", because it doesn't mean **** until the ink is dry. Quit bitching about guys that were never committed to MSU. I also hope that the coaching staff unerstands that too, and PS, next year invest in larger brown bags, dumbasses!!!! Oh, and one more thing, I hate the word "COMMITMENT"!

It means exactly the same thing it has always meant WHEN the recruiting situation works out for said coach. When they lose a certain player, or players, they want to change the definition of commitment.<div>
</div><div>I don't think anyone can blame a player for wanting to take visits, especially when they get to name their destinations. They get 5 paid vacations to wherever they want to go. The problem is with early commits and coaches, assistant coaches, recruiting coordinators, national recruiting gurus, state recruiting gurus, various beat writers calling them day after day after day. I'm sure it has to get old for anyone.</div><div>
</div><div>Hell, Yancy was on the radio this afternoon telling the Floyd Raven story and he detailed 3 back and forth texts and 2 different phone calls with the kid TODAY alone. </div>

Lots of difference in "interested" and "committed". I say that because all fan bases have the same feeling about that word "commit". It's a small victory until signing day, but if they are taking their 5 "free vacations", as you put it, then they have not decided which one of those 5 is their favorite get away. They have interest in all 5, thus that's why they are going to experience them in person so they can make a decision.

to borrow a line from Darell Waltrip, " the chicken is Dedicated, but the hog is Committed"!
