does anyone have any ideas about good places to eat in Manhattan, particularly around Central Park? I'm going up in a couple of weeks and would appreciate good advice.

full of sports memorabilia. Very casual, has burgers, et al. Faces central park near the Essex House.

If you want a more formal venue, try the Boathouse in Central park, or better yet, Tavern on the Green in Central Park. Be ready to give them a picture of Ben Franklin.

Salisbury Hotel on 57th street, just east of Carnegie Hall. You go through the back door of the Hilton and it is adjacent to the lobby.

Any of Mario Batali's are great, especially Del Posto. Bobby Flay's Mesa grill is great. It's always fun to go into Little Italy for dinner but expect to wait, awhile, and don't complain to them about the wait because they dont give a ****. You will watch table after table of (usuals) get seated before you.

This is really an impossible question. I dont think I have ever had a bad meal in NYC.

21 Club is also great and very cool.</p>

Tavern on the Green is a fancy name for horrible food. One of the worse steaks I've ever eaten.

It's more in the Gotham part of NY I think, but very good and not outrageously expensive
