He goes to bed. himself saying he is committed to MSU. His family reportedly posting messages congratulating him on his commitment. He wakes up, goes to school, and his coach is contacted and he is stern that no commitment was made, and he is wide open. This is then followed by a offer from OM to Markett. TRANSLATION:

Coach Pogue: Hey Nick, if I can get OM to offer ya boy, you need to hold off and open things back up.

Coach Pogue: Hey, coach Nutt, Nick says all he wants is a spot for his boy.
Coach Nutt: You know Im in the people heppin bidness, you tell him ima gonna offer Markett, and better yet ill offer their friend from down the road Joe Price, since they all want to play together.
Coach Pogue: Make sure and make the check payable to my wife.

why would a reporter call a coach to reconfirm something Brassell said last night....why not just ask him again....that's like a doctor saying your going to be fine after surgery and then the nurse comes in the room and says you may not make it....Kelley must think we are d#mbasses... or either Brassell has put the joke on us.

I posted this just 15 minutes before Yancy Porter posted that he was standing next to Brassell at practice and that he had re-opened his commitment.

Kaleb Eulls' coach wasn't very happy when he was close to committing to Ole Miss, either.

It goes both ways in this state. And there are more than a handful more MSU fans as coaches in MS than OM fans. OM fans just happen to be the head of two of the most prominent programs in the state.

And my guess is that Pogue is more pissed about MSU trying to backdoor their way to two of his best players instead of just doing it like everyone else (OM, Bama, etc) does....through the coach and/or administration.

I have never understood this. Why do coaches want to get involved in the middle of this crap? And why do they think it is their right to be? They are going to play anywhere.

If that is the case, then +%+% Pogue. No coach or adminstrator has any right no be invloved with a player's recruitment. If the kid asks for their help, then by all means help the kid get a grip on their recruitment, butneither Pogue nor anyone else at South Panola has any right to be involved with Nick and Kendrick's recruitment.

That isbetween a recruit and their family.

Maybe now y'all understand why OM fans have been so pissed about the way OB recruiting has been run the last several years with their HC....
