- The wealthier province is frustrated it is supporting poorer provinces?...sounds like the US.
- The country has distinct cultures and identities that want to stay distinct?...sounds like the US.
- An area is frustrated with environmental policies that threaten to hurt their industry?...sounds like the US.

- It's tough to have everyone be on the same page in a country that spans 6 time zones and is geographically 2nd largest in the world...sounds like the US.

People in California threaten that California should leave. People in Texas threaten that Texas should leave. People in the South threaten that the South should leave.
...sounds like Canada.

"Actively in the process of seceding" seems like a pretty big oversell when one outlier poll in one province says only 36% of the residents support it.

But we can all dream, right?

Hate to pour cold water on your fantasy but it will never happen. And to clarify it’s only one western province, not provinces, that’s even remotely thinking about it. British Columbia is night and day different than Alberta. They would join China before the US. Hell, if you’ve visited recently it looks like they already have. I lived there and still spend more time than I prefer up there. The anti America sentiment is strong. I just can’t see a scenario where this would ever happen.

That was my thought from the original post. BC is a photo-negative of Alberta. No way they're joining up to form a new country together. Alberta is Texas's wet dream.

Canada will fall
No way that’s happening and, frankly, we shouldn’t be rooting for that sort of instability in a bordering nation. There’s no way that works out well for us.

I've been to Calgary. They can keep it. It has to be the worst major city I have ever been to.

On a national scale... The Western provinces in Canada are actively in the process of seceding from their union.
New US states?
Australia, New Zealand, Canada and the Pacific Islands and prolly Greenland and Iceland too all will be. All Crown countries, states and everything else will not last much longer. The Crown is losing all their worldly powers finally.

What? Canada operates on its own. Canada has left some meaningless antiquated naming in place, but Canada sets its laws and its destiny.
The British Isles could tip over due to too many people, sorta like what we all fear will happen to Guam, and Canada would continue on.

I remember hearing about Alberta wanting to secede a decade ago. I am guessing its been going on longer than that. Whether Alberta leaves Canada or stays, is not related to The Crown possibly finally losing its worldly powers.

Supposedly, Edmonton is the worst of the worst Canadian cities, at least according to NHL players,

What is this gibberish.

Australia, New Zealand, and Canada are all part of the commonwealth which is just a group that says “hey we used to be part of Great Britain but we aren’t anymore.”

Greenland is part of Denmark and they are self governing. They’ve had referendums in the past to become a sovereign nation but have elected to stay with Denmark

Iceland is….Iceland, a sovereign country.

Greenland and Iceland do not belong to the Crown. The other three are all independent members of the Commonwealth and want no part of us.
