La Tech. So a 6-6 SEC West team = 10-2 or 11-1 c-usa team. For the record, I'd like to play Houston, but I'd rather be in the Music City Bowl.<div>

and just make them fight for at large bids. I'd be fine if they just made everything but the championship game subject to at large bids.

All the current system does is screw up bowl games and encourage people to schedule cupcakes. I'm tired of watching ****** BCS bowl games and I'm tired of seeing teams that haven't beat one of the top 50 teams in the nation being talked about as if they are good.

worst team in FCS (memphis)
The only bowl team we beat was LA Tech. At least USM beat Virginia whp is in the top half of the ACC. Just sayin..

All I see is people comparing Houston and USM to us. The fact those two teams are comparable to us (to some degree) is more than a reason why neither one of them deserves a BCS bid. You're not really taking away from what these people are saying by making claims like that.

And im not scared if we end up playing them in memphis . Johnson85 says hes tired of seeing non AQ schools because they haven't beaten anyone in top 50. Well guess what? We haven't either. That was my point

We are playing in either the Music City or Liberty Bowl. Which is where both of the CUSA championship game teams should be playing instead of the BCS. So yes, they are pretty comparable to us. Which is why there is no way either of them belong in the BCS.

are just goading us to do what is beneificial for them.

We arent scared. We are asking for what is fair. That is to say we want the money our fanbase produces from the games.

We want the games in starkville....ok that isnt reasonable now but every other year. But if we can play them a couple of years back and forth and then tell them again, show us the money or go home, they will do what they should.

Southern (maybe not the rest of the conference except Tulane and UAB) are advantageous for us to play. This is completely opposite of what I used to think.

It is time to kick their #!!%$$% *** back to the stone age on a yearly basis.

We did it the last two games against their best teams ever.

NonAQ is 5 and 2 in bcs bowls with one loss to another nonAQ. Only loss a blowout of Hawai. There have been other blowouts of equal suckdom envolvingtwo AQ teams. It kills me how delusional you guys can be!

Is that really the standard you want to get into a BCS game? Beat 11 nobodies and one team that is in the top half of a relatively weak conference?

And how is our game against La Tech even relevant? Did I miss the discussions about how MSU could back into a BCS game even though it's clearly not a very good team?

Right now, USM is looking at going to one of the bowls that has a tie in with CUSA, which is good because they're probably one of the top 30 to 40 teams in the nation. If they had been slightly better, say one of the top 20 to 25 teams in the nation, they probably wouldn't have lost to Marshall and UAB, and they'd be going to a BCS bowl right now. Alternatively, if Houston was one of the top 30 teams in the nation, they'd probably beat USM and they'd be going to a BCS bowl game. It's stupid to have a system set up where a team that's not one of the top 20 teams in the nation can go to a BCS bowl as long as they have a ****** schedule.

There have been plenty of mediocre teams play in the BCS. Kansas, Uconn, and Hawaii all come to mind. And it was pretty clear at the time that none of them were that good, but they benefitted from a combination of screwy rules and crappy conferences. We've had BCS games where neither of the two teams are one of the top 10 teams. People spend way too much money on those bowls to not try to put the best teams in them. You shouldn't ahve a school like UCONN losing millions of dollars because they are invited to a BCS game. If you only invited good teams, people would want to buy the tickets to the games.

It would also make for a much better regular season, as teams that thought they were good would be incented to schedule games where they can prove they're good, instead of incenting them to schedule 12 cupcakes and hope voters don't notice (which unfortunately they usually won't).
