Let's get him back as solid, stop the bleeding. Beyond this kid's potential as a player, he was also an active recruiter. Get him back in that role. Let him know we are not changing schemes, and he is a big "cog in the wheel" of our next dominating defense. Chris White, KJ Wright, Jamar Chamey, LB's of late are doing well at State, and for him the circumstances may be even better now that we are truly on a roll.

If CJ is a top tier 4-star or a 5-star -- looking at the lack of experience we have coming back at inside linebacker -- is there not a real possibility that he could be our Day 1 starter at MLB?

We've had past linebackers start as true freshmen on good MSU defenses.

Could he be by mid-season? Absolutely

The SEC is a man's league and it takes time to adjust to it. Some do it quicker than others, especially the really good ones. But he wont be ready to start against Aubarn and LSU his 2nd and 3rd games in college as a true freshman at MLB

Just because we sign a highly-rated player doesnt mean they have to start for us from the time they arrive on campus. Tyler Russell should have taught some of you this by now

I have a lot of faith that our coaching staff has the skilled coaching ability and they will be able to coach a exsisting LB to be up to par.</p>

He's getting a lot of chatter about possibly being a 5star recruit. MSU doesn't have a lot of experience or depth like you said. There is no way of telling now. We'll have to wait until fall before that question can truly be answered. Alabama has had a few LBs start as true freshman and I'm pretty sure their depth was better than ours at that position.

Our need + his projected ability = possible starter. I don't think it's that far out of the realm of possibility either. I've never seen him play, but some of the hype he's getting says he's an animal.

That being said, I hope we have other lettermen on the team that can win the job.

Titus was a hell of a MLB his freshman year. He was so good our genius of a coach decided to bury him in the depth chart at defensive end for the next 2 seasons.
