Way to represent the Illini 8
Hillmen/Hilltoppers!!!! Hats off to the Broncos of Montini but the Rumors of the demise of Joliet Catholic have been greatly exaggerated. So proud of you guys!!!
I love Broncos most of the time.Great year guys!!Congrats to JCA from another Bronco fan!
I still cant get over the fact our Crusaders went 13-0, best season in school history and were runners-up meanwhile a 5-4 team that got running clocked twice gets exulted as state champs. The system is broken.
I still cant get over the fact our Crusaders went 13-0, best season in school history and are walking around with runners-up sweatshirts on this holiday season meanwhile a 5-4 team that got running clocked twice gets exulted as state champs for beating a team in the championship that we beat 31-0 on its home field. Its not as if JCA is playing with what the bus drops off. The system is broken.
Here we go again.Montini beat the 8a champs in the regular season.
The regular season means nothing other than getting you a first round home game after you have made the playoffs. You can ask the same of the justification of your undefeated team playing on the road for the semis against let’s say a 3 loss team? The system will only get worse my friend with the district format.I still cant get over the fact our Crusaders went 13-0, best season in school history and are walking around with runners-up sweatshirts on this holiday season meanwhile a 5-4 team that got running clocked twice gets exulted as state champs for beating a team in the championship that we beat 31-0 on its home field. Since you seem to be stewing over things, ask yourself this: how did your team lose to a team in the championship game it beat 35-3 in the regular season?I still cant get over the fact our Crusaders went 13-0, best season in school history and are walking around with runners-up sweatshirts on this holiday season meanwhile a 5-4 team that got running clocked twice gets exulted as state champs for beating a team in the championship that we beat 31-0 on its home field. I think you're missing a very important point. JCA and Loyola were vastly improved teams when November rolled around. Had Rice improved at an equal rate Rice would be state champs and you wouldn't mention JCA.I still cant get over the fact our Crusaders went 13-0, best season in school history and are walking around with runners-up sweatshirts on this holiday season meanwhile a 5-4 team that got running clocked twice gets exulted as state champs for beating a team in the championship that we beat 31-0 on its home field. Simple answer to that question, Rice was badly out coached in the championship game. Bottom line.Since you seem to be stewing over things, ask yourself this: how did your team lose to a team in the championship game it beat 35-3 in the regular season?
How would you fix the system?I still cant get over the fact our Crusaders went 13-0, best season in school history and are walking around with runners-up sweatshirts on this holiday season meanwhile a 5-4 team that got running clocked twice gets exulted as state champs for beating a team in the championship that we beat 31-0 on its home field. Cry me a River.I was so glad you got beat after you made fun of and snubbed the Prep Bowl.Your crying is almost as bad as 1982 Marist saying they would have beat Reavis when in reality they wouldn’t even have beaten EisenhowerI still cant get over the fact our Crusaders went 13-0, best season in school history and are walking around with runners-up sweatshirts on this holiday season meanwhile a 5-4 team that got running clocked twice gets exulted as state champs for beating a team in the championship that we beat 31-0 on its home field. Correction: 13-1.I still cant get over the fact our Crusaders went 13-0,
I think we know who finished the Tito’s Christmas night. No rebuttal from Go Rice? Disrespected JCA and Montini as teams not worthy of championships but BR was? I guess thats why the games are played. What's that all about?
Tito's is a gold medal vodka. What won silver that year?I think we know who finished the Tito’s Christmas night.
By the way, If you intended to curry favor with MC63 (another poster that just can't accept the JCA 5A title this year), you made a fatal mistake. Your reference to Brother Rice players wearing "runners-up sweatshirts" will disturb him greatly. After all. at Mount Carmel they don't even display their runner-up trophies.
It's not that I cannot "accept" the JCA 5A championship, it's just that it's nothing to boast about. If you play at a much higher level during the regular season and then go down to a much lower level, that's nothing to brag about.
No shot at Rice guys, but I'm disappointed to hear about "runner up' sweatshirts.
BTW, I did find "curry favor with MC63" to be amusing. I can' think of anyone on this board wanting to curry favor with me. LOL
Happy New Year's, boys!
Well with the new District rules, the 91 year tradition of the Chicago Prep Bowl will finally come to an end in a couple years so you won't have to ***** about it any longer.MC63 please explain how you can brag about prep bowl titles? Are they not nothing more than a consolation game with an inferior opponent?

MC63- appreciate the reading lesson. Check out programs of decade notes and get back with me for the accolades of Mt. Carmel which list the prep bowl references. The faithful followers of MC sure do include those worthless trophies during recruitment / testing days. And no “fro” was exhibited while on campus. See...I can read, and spell sometimes.
The prep bowl was exciting football when I was in high school and continued to be so until the state playoffs came around. That is showing my age. Right now I agree it is only fun for the schools in the game with small crowds and little media attention. That's too bad! Would have loved to see the top private school and top public schools in the whole Chicagoland area go at it for state bragging rights.
MC63 - Maybe try reading that again. No printed program was mentioned. The thread...programs of this decade. Your fellow Mt. Carmel fanatic lists the Prep Bowl as an accolade. Sorry if you were confused.Again, please advise when I bragged about the post-IHSA Prep Bowls. Also, I'm amazed that you keep all those old programs, or, you claim to.
Sorry about the typo. I hate them, too.
It is an accolade. A 91 year tradition. Let it be. Or keep on bullying it and respecting a tradition that many on this board are proud of! Many of my family, friends and former teammates have hoisted that trophy proud so stop your bashing of it!!!MC63 - Maybe try reading that again. No printed program was mentioned.
