To be honest, I didn't think y'all would get there. But your team is better than I thought. Banks' fumble play in the 4th and the dropped UT pick 6 changed the game, but the better team won. Can't say I pulled for you, but after our win yesterday, y'all could have won 51-0 and I couldn't have been upset.

A few thoughts:

Russell is much better than last year. He has a great arm and is smart with the ball. Really high quality QB. Just needs to get rid of it quicker at times because he won't last forever with the shots he takes. Tough kid though.

Mullen's clock/ball control last night was excellent. Kept UT off the field, which was important because they are explosive.

I loved the call at the end going for it. Ruthless.

Wells is a beast.

Questions:

What's up with no pass rush?

Who is the playmaker at WR when Bumphis leaves?

What does CB look like without Banks and Slay next year? Or is Slay a JR?

CB is going to be ok next year... but not great like it is now. Slay is a SR so he's gone as well.. and I suspect he's increasing his earnings potential with his season so far. We'll fill in next year with Taveze Calhoun, Jamerson Love, Cedric Jiles, and Nick Redmond. I hate that we're opening the season with OK State next year.... cause that group is going to get tested in that one.

At WR, we've been hoping that Jameon Lewis turns into that playmaker... but for some reason, we won't get him the ball this year. We're also hoping that Joe Morrow develops. Robert Johnson, Fred Brown, and Brandon Holloway all have chances to make an impact too. This group will be thinner next year as well. Getting Rumph from JUCO is going to be big.

The d-line just can't get a push. They sucked in run D last night as well. Confused on these guys. I was expecting more from this position group.

Talk about no pass rush...

...I don't want to start a pissing contest after you came here with the compliments, but against your pass rush, Johnny Football had enough time in the pocket to fill out a crossword puzzle. Your questions are valid, & I'll let others answer them. But I hope you see the irony in an OM fan asking another team where's the pass rush.

I don't recall him saying Ole Miss' pass rush was better.

He was just wondering where ours was. You act like he isn't allowed to comment on something unless Ole Miss' is obviously better

Don't be a douche. The man paid his tribute in a respectful manner.

Save that for some other time.

We are averaging 3+ sacks per game. I figured the average football fan that saw that game realized we used a contain rush with a spy most if the game to try and keep him from running. I guess tgats what i get for assuming. I was asking about your pass rush because it has been an issue all year and it is usually a strength for State, especially with the talent on your DL. But thanks for your meaningless response.

Some of the pass rush issues were attributable to UT"s OL..They have a

good OL.....

Excuse my lack of salon etiquette...

...I just remember when they played aTm, Manziel had so much time in the pocket, I felt embarrassed for OM (& that has happened exactly 0 times in my life). So if he is going to ask where is our pass rush, I am going to ask him if he understands the meaning of irony. I left my "How to Politely Converse with Ole Miss Fans" manual in the car. Let me run & go get it.

Funny how winning has a way of not making you care so much about what your rival does. I agree completely. I never pull for y'all to win, but as long as we win it doesn't really matter too much what you do. Congrats on your win too.

It's not about being polite, it is about not trying to start an argument...

...when the original poster wasn't. He was just asking where our pass rush was, which many of us would love to know

We are averaging 3+ sacks per game.

Sounds like Ole Miss should be averaging 4 sacks per game since they have lost three and we have lost none. Also looking at Ole Miss schedule they wil not win another game.

reasoning:

Vandy is going to be a little too much for Ole Miss.
Arkansas is starting to put it together.
GA,LSU, Alabama and Miss State are all on a higher level.

We did have a pass rush. The goal was to put some pressure on Bray and we did that.. The goal wasn't to completely shut him down and set a record for sacks.

Bray was held to his worst game of the season. I think that says we're doing it right.

Yeah. Considering how good their OL is at pass protection, I thought we did a decent job of getting pressure on Bray. The really disappointing thing to me was that we couldn't stop the run.

I guess you missed the part where I educated you about our contain rush with a spy, which seemed to work pretty well considering he set an SEC record for offense the week before and then put up 600+ and 6 TDs the week after.

Dawgstudent's explanation of who you are helps this thread make much more sense.

On the alleged pick-6

watching the Jumbotron replay, I think Perkins would have been in position to make the tackle (after a good return). Would he have made the tackle? That, I don't know. Regardless, glad the UT guy dropped the ball. Of course, Eulls (I think) also dropped a potential pick-6.

When is the last time you made a post that didn't have some reference to OM?

Seriously, he asked a legitimate question and you're so insecure that you took it as an insult. I bet you were picked on a lot as a child.

It's funny that the announcers kept mentioning how great their OL is while constantly berating our DL for not being able to sack Brey every down.

Typical classless post from a TSUN fan. Congratulate us on our win. Berate our team. Let's talk about how I think your team will suck next year. FU too!

Part of the reason Bray wasn't very successful was that he didn't have to be. They were basically running it on us at will.
