Here is one of my favorites....

"You just have to laugh....

At some of the decisions these kids make. He could've made a much worse decision than going to dUKe, like just about any other program. However, when Kentucky/Cal offers and you want to go the NBA, you don't turn it down.

Purely based on the numbers, UK/Cal is like a Ferrari and dUKe/K is like a Corvette. Both are new, luxury cars and both are great. However, you don't turn the Ferrari down for a Corvette, no matter what.

Honestly, I just find these situations hilarious and really just shake my head. Folks, our country will be in trouble in the next 20-30 when the kids making decisions like these are running it."

This guy really believes that our country is in trouble because a kid chose to play basketball at Duke over UK and it is such a horrible decision...Smh

You're upset. That's understandable. I get that. But, the Ferreri-Corvette reference is hilarious on many levels, the most obvious being that Corvettes are produced in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Oops. Had you picked literally any other car for your horrible and derisive analogy, it might at least have had a chance of scoring a point. However, unintentional humor aside, your analogy was asanine. It was flawed in nearly every facet.

Thanks for that!

I'm always amused by the idea that going to Duke kills your chances of playing in the NBA. Duke had 20 players in the NBA this season. Brandon Ingram will be the 23rd first-round draft pick from Duke since 1999. Krzyzewski has had six NBA All-stars.

Yet, somehow we're supposed to believe that Duke is an NBA graveyard. Seriously?

Guys I totally don't care for this guys avatar. I know it's so commonly used now days but I think it's so vulgar to me. Yes I may be getting picky but I wish this thread could be deleted or just no one post and let it just slip away. There's nothing on it of note that's not be on another thread anyway. Mods would you consider deleting it. DI has too much class to have that word on our board every time you search a thread you would like to post on. I know I can ignore him but that shouldn't be the way to solve the problem . OFC

I agree with Sky here. This guy shouldn't even be allowed to post on the Duke board and if I want to read that stuff I'll turn the TV on and put it on closed caption. Mods can't you just remove this fools post?

OP, that is a half cop out, slightly back handed congratulations....it is ok to just say congrats without the addition of "mama bear".....but thanks anyway

Exactly. Makes them feel better about K beating Cal out on another recruit. Of course he only went there because "mama bear" told him to. No chance that he maybe actually wanted to go to Duke himself. Poor kid is getting dragged to Durham kicking and screaming.

They are sooo hurt at Rafters. Lol.

"When the BBN sees Humps play this year, most wanting Bolden will be over it and will be ready to support the kids we have instead of want kids that want to play for Duke. Any kid wanting to play for Duke has that ICK factor about them."

"144catfan" has intimate knowledge of what went on. He was actually there when Capel told the Bolden family to hold off on the announcement just so they could screw UK over. Lol.

"In the meantime the Bolden camp kept pushing off the decision and more or less leading UK on at the direction of Jeff Caple to be sure we ended up with neither."

In all reality, it wouldn't be the first time and won't be the last. Jason Williams wanted UNX and when they didn't want him, he wanted to stay at home and play for Rutgers. He cried in the car all the way to Duke, hoping his mom wouldn't make him go. As he always said since, "Momma knows best".

As you can tell, I don't post much. All I can say is wow about the UK posters on RR. I thought THR was the craziest, but after seeing some of your posts above about RR, I figured I would go take a look. There are actually posters on there (not just one crazy mouth breather, but several) who honestly believe that K and Bolden have known about this for weeks and purposely let this drag out to hurt UK and their recruiting of Allen. Just sat there for minutes with my mouth wide open in shock about this grassy knoll conspiracy. Nuts.....

Yes, RR is a great place for a good laugh as well as to get your mind absolutely blown. That place makes the likes of gary, Steat, Archer, DSouthr, etc....look close to sane.

Quite a few of them over there are even making an issue of Bolden saying "The University of Duke" and laughing about him supposedly wanting to go to Duke for an education. Complete idiots.

I saw that one too and was stunned. So many of them also say they can't believe a "big" would go anywhere other than UK because Cal is such a great developer of big guys. GTFO of here. Unibrow Davis, Cousins, Towns...all would have been what they are no matter where the hell they went to college.

Exactly! One of the three stooges could coach them! It's also like saying Lebron James needs coaching! Did Skal and Marcus Lee get great coaching? I also love how Briscoe's father is starting to question the coaching at UK now.

The funniest part about the RR fanbase is that they justify their behavior because they're "Tha most passionate fanbase EVAH!"

Give me a break. Yes BBN, your fans are passionate, with many being passionate in a positive way. Having said that, BBN's underbelly was on full display for all with a smartphone to see.

The irony in all of this is that the vitriol aimed at Bolden does them no favors with regards to future recruiting battles. The narrative I often see is that anyone who would even consider Duke is not a player they would want.

Yeah. Good luck with that.

If they think they're doing their school favors by lashing out at a kid who choose another school other than Kentucky, they're delusional. Do they not think that those kids being recruited for next year's "reloading" are not reading these comments? Worse still, do they think that they will approve of a fanbase so fickle as to turn on a player and wish for his death?

Again, good luck with that.

I love Duke with all of my heart but in the end....It's just basketball. The rivalry "hate" makes things fun but letting BASKETBALL consume your life like it does UK fans do is very disturbing of where the priorities of some of these people lie. I have a child, job, mortgage and bills. Duke Basketball and all of my favorite sports teams are a way to get away from 'real life' stresses not to be a part of them. When I start stressing that bad over a kid we didn't get in recruiting I will let go for good. Geesh! Grow up clowns.

There were 20 Duke players in the NBA this year.. Not exactly sure how many Kentucky players played in the NBA this year (there were 21 on the opening day rosters), but unless they have 30 plus.. there's really no "Kentucky is better for getting to the NBA than Duke" argument..

Not to mention, Kentucky has 1 championship in the 2000's... Duke has 3 in that time.. errrrg.

I have seen this several times from UK posters, saying Tatum and Giles are pretty much the same player. I don't get it....

"Duke has two clones of a player, GIles and Tatum and a Center that likely won't start over Jefferson. On paper maybe give it to Duke, but hat is only if Giles is good to go. Having #1 and #2 player is pretty amazing. In reality, that should have been MKG and Davis, but Austin Rivers messed that up."

Anyone saying that HG and JT are the same player clearly are cousins with Hellen Keller. They're not at all the same player, at all. And in about six months, they'll find that out.

A strong argument can be made that Kentucky "needed" Bolden more than Duke did. A combination of Giles/Amile/Jeter is a much better center combo than Bam/Humphries/Lee.

Makes it even that much sweeter that Bolden showed off a Duke shirt yesterday.

The best part about yesterday was that out of his final 3 schools on his list, UK was the only one that he didn't wear a tshirt to represent them.

Nice comment HonkeyT -- "Hate" is a _really_ strong term. Hard to reserve a term like that for a game, that we all watch, and have absolutely no control over.

I am kind of thinking the University of Duke was intentional....

....I am sure I am not the only one who has said that -- I'll take off my Captain Obvious cape now.
He'll need to work on the delivery. His nerves made him rush it. I like that he was nervous about it. Shows he takes this very seriously.

Can someone help me with this?? Why do so many of those goofballs say that Tatum and Giles are the same player?? Believe I saw it over at the Tar Hole board as well.
