I came across a thread on Sixpack months ago before the season began that was initiated by C34. It went for four pages. It dealt with a preseason comparison of State and OM. I copied the link way back then with the intent of re-posting it here after the regular season was over. I had hoped it would be under better circumstances. But our season went to hell quickly and never recovered and yours turned out nicely. I feel obliged to follow through with my original intent and re-post it now.

Here is the link:

or congratulate you for being altruistic. I think in the back of your mind y7ou are just starting a coach 34 "i told you so" thread.

But it was interesting to read.

I can say this with all honesty. There is no 17ing way I would have predicted UM to have been 4 wins going into the egg bowl . I'd have predicted msu with 10 wins going in first.

THe fact of the matter is that ole miss just had a worse offensive line, and then injuries on it, than was expected. That is a bigger killer than the qb issue between stanley and masoli.

The other fact of the matter is that we were able to be one dimensional this season and still win 8 games with no big play wide receiver.

THat is a testimony to how good our coaches are.

On the other hand, Nutt has to make a decision. Either get more involved in recruiting and hire a good DC and OC to do the work for him, or be fired at the end of next year.

Word of caution: OM took a public BEATING for forcing out Cutcliffe with his success. Imagine the beating over Nutt if he leaves aftertwo years of success in 3-4 years. You will be back in the Orgeron sweepstakes for a coach.

Right on he turns a potential sack into a one or two yard gain if its Stanley that number of sacks is easily doubled. Without Masoli +!@+'s offense is so bad its scary... He did make a difference he was their biggest threat on offense if you shut him down you shut +!@+ down which happened tonight. Its baseball season in Oxford starting tomorrow and I 17ing love it.
