Big Bully and his partner beat me and my partner 12-10 in a 3rd set tiebreaker to winour division'smixed doubles consolation bracket. Y'all were easily the best team we faced this weekend. No offense to Meoff, who we destroyed Saturday. It was his 3rd match of the day and his partner wasn't nearly as good as Big Bully's was. Also, Irondawg is playing in the finals of the men's doubles in his division.

Overall, it was a real good weekend. Saw a lot of old friends and met a few new ones.

Had a great time playing you guys and meeting some fellow sixpackers. It was a fun tournament and I think everyone had a good time -- even though it was hot as hell this weekend. We need to have another SixPack tournament soon. Maybe a SixPack vs. NAFOOM tournament.

and just didn't get around to it. But interest seems to be pretty good, so I think there's a good chance we'll see that in the next month or so. I don't think the NAFOOMers are as into tennis as we are, but I did see one at the tournament this weekend.

if you have never scheduled courts, checked in players and scores all at the same time before, have someone with you.

Was a fun weekend even though we went down 10-8 in the 3rd set of the finals

We do need another SPS open sometime - hate I missed the last one

20 years ago but encountered a long long layoff. A comeback was inspired by a ****** golf game and a screamin wife dragging my fatass onto a mixed doubles team.I've had to shake more rust than that which is found on a urinal in the bottom of Davis Wade. But, nothing the flinging of a tennis racket and a few loud obscenities hasn't handled.

Since the last time you ran was probably in 5th grade kickball, I will let you know if they ever have a Fantasy Tennis League for you to draft a team and compete.

is an insult to Woody McCorvey. In fairness to DS, this is what he was dealing with:

1. Check 190 players into the tournament, and collect money from the ones who hadn't paid yet.
2. Make court assignments and call players for 14 courts.
3. Record and post scores for completed matches.
4. And just generally try to keep order amid complete chaos.

it's all in about 30 min. The rest of the time - it was pretty low pace. The lady who did 95% of the checking in had a match.

Hazing and ridicule from friends over his generally pathetic performance. He quickly shut that up with threats of physical violance. Then he had to deal with this exchange at about 1 minute intervals with my partner and me:

Partner: Hey, Patdog. Court 1 looks like it's open. Go ask him if we can get on that court.
Patdog: Hey, Dawgstudent, can we get on court 1.
Dawgstudent: No, I just assigned that court.

Partner: Hey, Patdog. Court 11 looks like it's open. Go ask him if we can get on that court.
Patdog: Hey, Dawgstudent, can we get on court 11.
Dawgstudent: No, I just assigned that court.

Partner: Hey, Patdog. CourtA1 looks like it's open. Go ask him if we can get on that court.
Patdog: Hey, Dawgstudent, can we get on court A1.
Dawgstudent: No, I just assigned that court. Look, I'm going in order here.

etc., etc.

The father daughter mixed team blew us away in the final, 2 and 1. And for beingstill in college, this girl was damn good....and smoke. And to Meoff, sorry about my partner's constant talking and your welcome for my partner's constant barrage of net shots trying to hit it back at your partner on your service. You can buy me a beer later.

I like this idea, don't know how much interest there would be, but it could be fun. And I was impressed with this weekend's tournament. It was a lot of fun and a well-run tournament, although I'm not sure what to do with my free StateT-shirt.
