Congrats to the Crest Chargers. One of the best defenses I have seen in many years. Glad to see Mr. Barnes get that title. Man has done a great job with the program. This group of kids really kicked butt on defense.

Congrats to Crest, great win for the West. Havelock is like most Eastern teams all hat and no saddle. Cleveland County is like the SEC, they beat up on each other and when they play teams from other areas who have played no one all year, they do what they did today.

They would not have made it to the title game 3 years in a row playing in the west....out west even the strongest teams lose on any given Friday, ask South Point, Catholic, Asheville, Crest or any 4A/4AA powerhouse.

I'll admit your defense was awesome but havelock fumble which y'all scored off of fumble in the red zone and threw a pick not making excuses but without those turn overs could have been a different game but that defense is the cause of. The turn overs but we will be back hopefully we get to play crest again for a little pay back as far as playing in the west statements kill yourself there is no if we don't it's that simple we will win more championships too

Congrats to Crest! I actually saw quite a few Buncombe County folks stick around after the Robbinsville game to support the Chargers in this one. That was one awesome display of football in every aspect! All the smack talked this year about how hard hitting this team is was no joke. I know the defense was straight nasty, but that offensive unit was every bit as physical, especially #30, he never stops. #42 for Havelock is going to have nightmares about that kid. I stopped and watched the MC Wake game on the way back and I would love to see Crest go against either team. Crest may not win, but I guarantee you they would out hit either team big time. Looking like my Warriors may be getting Shelby on the schedule for next year, can only make us better.

As a Havelock fan I will be the first to say congrats. Now with that said I want you to know that the 2 guys RAMNASTY and ramhard are not Havelock fans. The true fans are classy and respectful. You guys deserved the game and just flat out beat us today. Yes, that is one hell of a defense!! We will regroup and be back next year as we also are very young. Again congrats on your title and we hope to see you next year.

I agree that Cleveland County schools go thru a gauntlet, no doubt about it... I love watching those schools play. However, watching both western ball and eastern ball as a coach and a spectator I'd have to say that the statement that Havelock does not play anyone all year is not true.

Havelock this year played the 4A Eastern State Champs New Bern and beat the wheels off of the 2AA Eastern State title runner ups Washington Pam Pack that dropped a tough one to 2A powerhouse East Lincoln 14-13 yesterday. I do agree that they may not play the caliber of teams that Crest or Shelby play all year long, but I've always thought that Havelock does not go out of their way to schedule top notch none conference programs that New Bern, Richmond, Cleveland County schools do every year.

Congrats to Crest and Shelby! 2 champs in one town is always impressive!

I believe so unless Crest knows something we don't. I saw Coach ML last Saturday and we talked about our next game would be at the home of the defending 3A state champs.

I agree and everything changes from year to year.The Clinton team from 97 was the best all around team I have every seen and 2004 SW Onslow was a great team.Next year could be the East's turn again.

Congrats to the Crest Chargers. Defense wins Championships. Havelock players have nothing to hang their heads about. They played hard from beginning to end. No team is going to win it every year. Three in a row is something special. We fans love to brag about our teams, but in the end it is about the players. Both teams made it, but only one can win. Congrats to both teams and from what I saw after the game, both teams are loaded with fine young men.
