Conspiracy theory

Is it possible that Hud really hated Dan, and is jealous of him? Maybe took his position thinking Dan would be gone in 1 or 2 years and he would be the leader to take over. Maybe he really didn't care for Dan, but was gonna stick it out hoping to come out the head coach in the near future. So now Dan looks like he's going to stay a while, and Hud decides to bolt, and has a pretty good opportunity to do so. Now to the recruiting conspiracy. Hud is the common factor involved with CJ, Tobias, Price, etc. Is it possible he sabotaged us with these guys and said some not so nice things about Mullen upon his departure, and maybe still is?<div>

Good luck to him trying to get back to MSU as head coach if word ever got out that he was sabotaging our recruiting. I just can't believe he would do that, or be stupid enough to do that.

and this is just a theory for message board discussion. Not my personal opinion of what is happening.

That's just too far-fetched for me to believe, there. I agree that if that ever got out, he would never be able to set foot around here again. Nah. Just can't grasp that.

Hud is an MSU guy and i believe his dream job is the hc at MSU. If hehad stayed and dan leaves in 1 to 2 years he would be a really hard sell to ourfan base to hire on as hc. If he could manage to take sorry ole ULL to a bowl in the next 2 years and prove he can coach a div 1 team he would be in much better position to have an opportunity at the MSU job. There is no 17ing way he is screwing with recruits.

Not buying it but that certainly would explain why C J decommited more than the other reasons given.

Because if he did, he should never be allowed to come back to Starkville again.

And honestly, if it wasn't for Dan Mullen, Hud might not have the chance that he is getting now at ULL.

No one at MSUever did anything to Hud. He found a better paying Job that might lead to a better paying job. He gets older each day. I don't blame him at all.

He was not hired by Mullen: Greg Byrne interviewed him for the HC position and hired him onto the staff before Mullen took the job. I know a relative of Hud's that said he really didn't like Mullen and was miserable in Starkville under him. All the recruits that suddenly rethought their decision were Hud recruits and got itchy feet right after he left and we went down to Jacksonville. There are alot of coincidental happenings that have made me wonder if some shade of this was true as well.

It better not be true in any shape or form, since Hud apparently has told peolple that MSU is his dream job. If there is one ounce of truth, he should never be considered for a custodial position there

...this is ridiculous. Hud is an outstanding coach and like someone else said, is a Bulldog through and through. He will no doubt succeed at ULL. What would he have to gain by sabotaging our recruiting? Nothing! In fact, he would be poisoning his own well.

but I have an immediate family member who knows Hud very well (I have hung out with him before on several occassions too). I can say with all honesty, that this is a huge crock of ****. Hud is a huge MSU guy and he would NEVER do anything to harm our program.

Unless he is a master deceiver, and has my family fooled, he is nothing but pro-MSU.

Just my two bits.
