Does anyone know if the ncaa allows a team to hire consultants to come in and take a look at your team and make suggestions. We have pretty good skill everywhere but not sure about the lines. They are just way to slow off the ball. The only way I see to salvage this is bring in some experts to look at our lines and give us some suggestions. I guess you could fire them and bring in other people but not sure that would be the best route at this point.

That would take ingenuity on the part of the staff and our AD. Alabama just hired Sarkisian. It can be done, but it won't. I feel like Stoops and company are like the Baghdad Bob dude from the Iraq war. Everything is fine! Nothing to see here.

Florida just hired Steve Spurrier as a consultant. Schools routinely hire consultants during coaching searches. But this isn't the time for Kentucky to hire a consultant. What could possibly be gained? I can tell you the problems for free. Everyone knows what they are. Stoops knows what they are too. He just hasn't been able to fix some of them. He has another 23 games to do it, but I am becoming more skeptical. In fairness, things that seem simple to fans aren't as simple for players and coaches. In a competitive sport, other teams want to win as much as our team wants to win. Someone has to lose, and that's usually the team that can't control the line of scrimmage. It doesn't take a consultant to see our team isn't controlling the line of scrimmage or fixing its special teams problems. Either this gets turned around, or else the next consultant hired by Barnhart will be hired during the next coaching search.

If you are serious, then you haven't listened to Stoops. He knows things aren't fine, and he has said so.

Does Stoops actually realize how much of the problem he is?

He also followed it up by saying this team is there. They are capable of taking it to the next level. I would've believed him had I just watched the first 29 minutes and 10 seconds of the first half. Then, I watched the second half.

I'm not sure what the NCAA rules are, but I know it's pretty easy to get creative with hiring.

I've always thought UK needed to build a stronger football operation not only on the field but behind the scenes with support staff and administrative personnel.

Bring in football people. Guys who have played and/or coached, and have them be a part of the program in some capacity.

Heck have ole papaw brooks come back to watch film and run the scout teams.

Joker may not have been HC material, but he coached a heck of an offense and put some players in the pros during his time as OC. Have him come in and be a part time adviser or "special assistant to the AD". If nothing else he can share with CMS everything not to do.

Bring in Couch, Dawson, Lorenzen, etc...and have them be on some sort of "legacy board"...

I've long thought Howard Schnellenberger should have been brought in a long time ago and made some sort of "Athletic Director Emeritus" and put in charge of football oversight. Time has probably passed for that though...but 15 years ago he could have gotten the ball rolling.

Steve Sarkesian just got on with Bama. When guys like that go through some things and hit the open market, bring them on to watch film and help with drills. Saban now has a former top P5 assistant and recruiter as a graduate assistant/manager.

Hell go get Johnny Football to run scout team QB...for the week before UL at the very least...

Yeah, it doesn't exactly take Sherlock Holmes to see that - Larry Holmes could have figured that out.

Isn't that what all those **** ton of people on the sidelines/booth are supposed to be doing and are getting paid to do?!

According to the athletics website UK currently has 14 coaches and 36 support staff.

Not flameing but if you all need a consultant, let Coach Cal spend some time with them. Your program will be better for it.

You can recruit all the skill position players you want, if you can't recruit the big uglies, those 6'4"-6'9" 300 lbs plus ol/dlinemen with quick feet, you can't compete.

If there's a consultant that's going to make our DLine very good all of a sudden give them a blank check. They're the new head coach. I'll rent the U-Haul to help Stoops move out of his house.
