1. Subscriptions.
What's that? Well its a really easy way to track the threads that you are interested in. You can mark threads as subscribed (or unsubscribed). You can also have it automatically subscribe you to every thread you post in. And then there is a place here you can go to see just the threads you have subscribed to.
To subscribe to a thread
pen any thread. Look for a drop-down menu just above the top of the thread that says "Thread Tools". From there, you can click subscribe.
To automatically subscribe to every thread you post in: Well, right now I think this is happening automatically by default. Not sure, checking with Dawgstudent on that. Dawgstudent?
To see just the threads you are subscribed to (you know..instead of all the other noise on the board): Above the Head To Head ad at the top of the page, there is a menu bar. Look for the drop-down menu that says "Quick Links". click that and then click "Subscribed Threads". Oh and I THINK this only works if you are setup for topic view instead of threaded view (scroll all the way to the bottom, then look left, select "topic view" from the drop down menu).
One more thing...click Settings at the very top of the page. Then at the menu on the left, at the bottom click General Settings. You'll see a settings that says "Default Thread Subscription Mode" with a drop down menu next to it. I recommend setting that to "Through my control panel only". Otherwise you'll get daily or weekly emails alerting you to subscribed threads with new posts in them.
2. To see the first unread message in a thread....No longer do you have so scan a lists of posts to find unread posts. Threads with new posts show up as bold font. Just to the left of the thread title you'll see a blue circle with an arrow pointing down. Click that and it takes you to the first unread (or new) post in the thread.
