Wrong-house shooting: Not the first time call for help ends in death

2:21 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2015

On Monday three Dekalb police officers responded to a report of a burglary in progress and entered the wrong home. In a bizarre turn of events, officers shot an unarmed homeowner, killed his dog, and wounded a fellow officer, according to authorities.

The shooting underscores how a 911 call for help can end with the death of a resident.

Of the Georgians fatally shot by police since 2010, more than a third were killed at home.

Last year, a group of cops threw some type of explosive device inside a house they were raiding. Well, it was the wrong house and it disfigured a little kid (1-4-years old) and they ruled that they weren't responsible and didn't have to pay any of the medical bills.

That type of **** is when you go all Gerad Butler in Law Abiding Citizen.

There is a link within your link that shows the people that were killed at home. Most of them had guns. Anyway, out of the 65 they showed, 1 was Asian, 2 were Hispanic, 21 were Black, and 41 were White.

I call ******** on that story.

It is 100% true. Happened somewhere in North Georgia, Dalton maybe. The elected officials, always concious of protecting the tax dollars from its conservative citizens, tried to weasle out of liability for the event. I am not aware of how it turned out. I believe the victims were asian, and the head of household did have priors, but it was the wrong house. The cops didn't raid the wrong house, they just got a bad lead. No drugs found. Bad lead from an informant. The informant who, BTW, is some kind of scumbag addict.

Same thing happened to a 72 year old man in Fort Worth a couple of years ago. Burglar alarm on the house across the street went off when the residents were away. Security company called police. Two rookie cops show up at the wrong house because garage door was open. Set off the motion detector on his driveway lights. Being a Texan, the 72 year old immediately grabs his pistol to go investigate. Cops shot him 7 times in his own garage. The 72 year old man, Mr. Waller, never got off a shot.

The Feds had a habit of injecting "non-flammable" gas into homes only to have it burn to the ground long before Waco. These strong arm tactics have filtered down to small local police forces infused with DHS funding and military weaponry. Then of course a great number of police officers are hired directly out of the military where they cut their teeth on busting heads in Iraq and Afghanistan and they set the tone and culture for an already overly gung-ho police force as the regular joes want to act like the military studs... and as a result who do you think they go out and "practice" on with their new funding, weaponry, and macho training?

Yep. Us. Hence the out of control police state with all the accompanying backlash you see unfolding now. The chickens have come home to roost only they're riding in Apache helicopters and soon to be flying armed drones over us. Nice little gig we've setup for ourselves. A couple of Kentucky counties have already purchased drones for their "police" departments.

Seems to me that police murder a disproportionately number of innocent people compared to the average citizen. We should just disarm all policemen and make sure the average citizen is well armed. Would put a stop to that problem. Many countries around the World have lower crime rates than we do and their policemen aren't allowed to carry guns.

We can always learn something from others if we care to pay attention.

I think all police officers should carry flamethrowers. If you want to make a statement then flamethrow somebody. The kids especially seem to inherently understand and fear fire. So if you show them somebody actually on fire at an early age then it will imprint that image in their memory and make them a more law abiding citizen.

Plus the officers can also carry marshmallows and take advantage of the flame throwed individual to have a spontaneous kind of pot luck and maybe pass out treats to the kids as well. You'd be amazed at the number of different dishes one can prepare in the field if you just use your imagination a little and think outside the box. Smores over petty criminal is one of my favorites.
