This is from last year but I was looking around and trying to figure out how high he might go. Definitely an athlete and he looks bigger than 205lbs.

Honestly, I think our chances of him coming to State are pretty good and I hope he plays both.

Seems that it was written somewhere in an interview with him to the effect that he's not interested in playing both if he signs with State.

He has stated it both ways at different times but I believe you are correct in that the latest was he would likely only play football if he came to MSU. Problem with it is the fact that playing QB requires so much time off season throwing and working with your receivers. If he played a different football position then playing baseball would be much more manageable. The only QBs I can remember doing it somewhat successfully in the SEC would be Gabe Gross at Auburn and Todd Helton at TN.

Russell Wilson, Drew Henson, Josh Field (OK State), Kyle Parker from Clemson all did it and did it well.

Russel Wilson wasn't in the sec but I think it worked out ok for him
He didn't play college baseball did he? Either way, he's a stud and should be considered the exception, not the rule. He's a freak. 5'10" and shreds people through the air.

I could see Cord being a relief pitcher or a midweek guy, but there's no way he could put the needed effort to be a weekend guy and a starting QB.

Wilson did play baseball and was very good. I believe he played second base, was drafted fairly high (3rd of fourth round) and played minor leaugue ball ball in the summer while he was still playing football. But you're right, he is an exception. And you won't have to worry about cord pitching though because he is an outfielder as someone else said.
