Corky is throwing his middle relief under the bus.

Oh the humanity! How dare he point out his team's weakness!

"We lost the game because our middle relief didn't get the job done," USM coach Corky Palmer said. "(Seth) Hester did a great job of coming back after that first inning and gave us what we needed. But after we got the 5-3 lead, the middle relief just didn't get it done. They got it done and we didn't and that's all there is to it."

What a classless piece of crap. Do they really want him as their coach at USM? How are they going to recruit anyone there?

I am DEMANDING a Rebel influx to the USM boards to rail on Palmer.

That's not even close to the same thing as saying your players aren't good enough to get the job done.

just doesn't give us the warm fuzzies the way hating MSU does.

"Frankly, I've said some things I probably shouldn't have said. . . . I'll be the first to admit I don't lose well. I never have."

You mean, he was just mad after a loss? It wasn't an elaborate plan to run off players without having to cut them? It was an angry person saying something he shouldn't have and later went onto regret? No way.

So, does this make Cohen a ***** that's ruining the country like some said of the people who didn't like him throwing his players under the bus publicly?

Cohen has yet to realize the genius that he has been completing. Its SO ingenius, he has yet to realize it. Maybe the Nnja will inform him.

They were right.

Everybody else is wrong. Including John Cohen.

"I know that all that ******** my Rebel bethren posted after Cohen's comments was exactly that, ********, so I'll defray the hypocrisy by discounting USM." Nicely done.

I'm not going to stand for pitchers who won't pound the strike zone
So really, he isn't sorry. Also of note, 2-0 since those comments were made.

Even though he apologized for it, the results speak for themselves. I don't think the relatively short term effect on recruiting will affect Cohen's long term record.

that junior committed BECAUSE of the statements he made and his attitude.

Couldn't have anything to do with the rest of the program. Its obviously because of those comments.

surely, you are not this ignorant. No one suggested that recruiting would improve b/c of the statements. Most of us just didn't feel like it would hurt.

Just like most of us don't think its the greatest thing in the world to say the things he did. We just don't think its a big deal or that it really matters. And hell, we played our best midweek ball all year after the comments.

I think he was apologizing more for the Jim Ellis comment than the we don't have anyone that can throw strikes comment.

By the way, since Cohen's comments, I have seen Tony LaRussa and now Corky Palmer make similar comments about their bullpen or closer.

I thought that was expected of fans of SEC schools.

Dontae Walker is a thug who better serves the community as a convict behind bars. Jamar Hornsby's situation is probably overblown and life is about second and, if needed, third chances. You know why? Because Dontae played for State and Hornsby could potentially play for Ole Miss at a position that needs depth.

It's not that I don't know it's hypocritical. It's just that I don't care.

BTW, I agree completely with you about Dontae Walker. But if he'd played his last 2 seasons at 230 instead of at 270, I'd be telling a different story. And Jamar Hornsby should get the chair.

I just thought it was hilarious after all the excuse making and etc., that Cohen came out and said he said some things he shouldn't have said, after y'all said every word of it was acceptable (minus a few posters).

I haven't seen LaRussa's comments, but Palmer's are nothing like Cohen's. Saying your relief pitchers didn't get it done is wholly different than saying that your relief pitchers blow donkeys.
