well, looks like yahoo F'd it again. FT shooting wasnt 87.5%, but it was still a very respectable 77.8%.
also...
Bost apparently had 6 turnovers to only 2 assists.
Ravern got 7 boards, well above his norm.
we shot a good 38.5% from deep.
Elgin Bailey barely made it onto the court tonight...why?
46 total rebounds, outrebounded them by 10.
24 turnovers for the team...awful
19pts 12rebs 6 blocks for Jarvis...that guy is the posterchild for developing thru the years so far.

a mixed bag of good and bad numbers right there.

jarvis saw more minutes because this game was going to be harder. that cut down on elgin's. bost also was hurt for most of the game (ankle) which could have added to the turnovers.

i thought the refs were absurd tonight. strange game.

Yahoo just amazes me at how bad off their stats always are. They usually get them closer a little while after the game. It makes me wonder how they get their stats in the first place. ESPN's numbers are still slightly different, but Yahoo's are more accurate now. They finally gave Brian Johnson's numbers to someone, probably Ravern, and took his name off the list of minutes played.

Our turnovers brought them back into the game. As Bost was hurting, Beckham did a really good job tonight. We had 4 more Off boards than them and outrebounded them by 10 or 11, depending on where you look

We had 14 assists to 24 turnovers. Sounds like old times, but needs to get better. Augustus and Osby had 9 fouls between them. All in all I am impressed with them getting it done at the end.

I shouldn't have just read the another thread mentioning Cameron Burns before reading your post. I remember seeing "Smoke" put an elbow on the back of a Depaul Blue Demon players head through his nose. One of the best looking fouls I seem to remember, of course it was after he rebounded the ball, giving it back to Depaul. Now that was art. What the hell is ff anyway?

..foul. "You get 5....******' use em'." His words, not mine. But I agree. going down with fouls to give is like going down with TO's left. If neccassary,....of course

I thought Varnado/Osby was our best combo tonight. Stansbury seemed content to stick with that until Romero fouled out. It's a shame, he seemed to be gaining confidence and gave us a couple of big dunks; one of them off a sweet feed from Beckham.

last Saturday night against FD. He missed a lot of in close shots, turned the ball over, fouled like a bull in a china shop and the BIGGEST thing was he did NOT block out. A couple of times when FD was shooting free throws the guy on the block beside Elgin came right around him, took the missed free throw and got a point blank put back. That should not happen.
