At least we know schrader will recognize when he has 10 yd between him and the first offender he should run to get yards instead of keep scrambling and looking down field to throw an interception or throw a ball past the line of scrimmage to lose a down. I can't tell you how loud I was screaming at the TV as Costello decided to throw it three yards past the line of scrimmage when he had plenty of room to run for the first down and he could even slide his pansy left coast *** down and not have to take a hit. Anybody know if leech penalizes quarterbacks for running by doing burpees in the beach?
Uh no. He will either move along in his on or be asked to move on. There is nothing to be gained and a lot to be lost if Costello stays another year. We have a Freshman this year and 2 4 star Freshmen (hopefully) still coming in next year, and we need to build a team, not rely on QB transfers.
Surely Schrader can read the easy throws underneath. That’s all that defenses are allowing right now so that’s what we can take. Couple that with the ability to gash ‘em. Leach has all the pieces to win several more games this year but it’s not going to happen. Unfortunately this man isn’t going to change anything.
Exactly. He's not a great passer, but he's adequate, and right now it's not like we have anyone much better. But what he does bring to the table is he will take off and run for yards instead of forcing a pass. And he's a gamer, Costello isn't.
Costello doesn't need a lot of speed when the yards are available. Last week with Ark he had 2 chances to pick up first downs and choose to slide instead of putting his head down. Yesterday another chance what'd he do, threw past the line of scrimmage and almost had it picked. Shrader gives us a better chance to at least be competitive with his arm and legs, especially since our line can't block 3 people.
