Guess Nutt thought running off Cotton wasn't going to hurt anything, after all they had plenty of depth after Masoli. At least until an hour ago.</p>

Ahhhh... so now he is a 4th string scrub since leaving UM. How soon one goes from predicted significant playing time at UM to scrub at a small college. What a difference 2 months makes.

There was an article last week that I am too lazy to find where the South Alabama coach named his starting quarterback and his backup. Cotton is third team. I think the main reasons are because he is trying to play with a hurt shoulder and obviously doesn't know the playbook but at the end of the day he is running third string. Certainly doesn't make me feel any better about our current situation. You gotta figure he was more prepared to play than Haggard or whatever clown will be 3rd string now.

I think he's pissed for ever even stepping foot on the Ole Miss campus. Here's a 4* Qb that had a ton of offers and he chooses the Rebs. Typical Nutt promising him the world and delivering on none of it. After he redshirts a year, Cotton finds himself behind Stanley and the savior Masoli so he bolts. I would imagine he's kicking himself for not going somewhere else where he could still have a chance to be a 3 year starter

Ole miss spun it like he left and then they needed Masoli. Cotton told his teammates at South Alabama that Rader told him that Ole Miss was going to bring in Masoli and when he asked Nutt, he had to confirm it. That is when Cotton said the hell with you and left. In typical UM fashion, they told the press the only reason they went after Masoli was when Cotton left. Hypocrisy ultimately will bite you in the *** and in this case it did. Maybe Masoli will stay and play next year but odds are he won't.
