Does anyone know if this is just wishful thinking or if this will really happen. Seems like alot of these projects ground to a halt like the Harbor Walk in the Jackson area once the economy bottomed out.
I sure wish this would happen but it's probably not. The economy slowed things down but apparently hasn't directly killed this (for now) but it's been the state budget cuts (as a result of the economy, I realize) and the scrutiny that every dollar spent gets since the developers were counting on the University investing heavily in the project in the form of lease agreements for space. Probably some other stuff. I was told by a staffer of President Keenum's that 'the numbers didn't work.' Keenum wanted it to happen but it wasn't there.
