Looking at the BCS standings 6 of the 7 teams directly in front of us are in trouble or have tough games later today.

20. South Carolina - tied with Tennessee 10-10 in the 2Q.
19. Arkansas - has an easy one at home against Vandy
18. Iowa - hosting undefeated Michigan State
17. Oklahoma State - down 7-0 nearing halftime at Kansas State
16. Florida State - already lost Thursday night to NC State
15. Arizona - at UCLA
14. Nebraska - hosting undefeated Missouri.

And just for kickers, 22. Miami (who is ahead in the polls) is down 14-0 to Virginia.

If we win this game tonight and happen to look good doing it, we could be 17, 18 or so next week, and possibly top 15 when we face Alabama.

We got jumped because we almost lost to UAB and certainly didn't look like a Top 25 team. That being said, any type of win over UK looks decent for us, and should be enough for us not to get jumped. And with FSU and Miami losing, we can at least get 2 spots in the human polls with a win, and it could be more depending on the other games today. Also Tennessee is within a TD of SC. A win by us today and we could be sitting very well going into the bye week.

And is beating kentucky really that impressive? At home?I know ofr our program it would be huge, but in the eys of voters it is just another game that we should win.

Even beating Vanderbilt, because ask Ole Miss this year and SC 2 years ago to open the season how they felt losing to a team that isn't usually an impressive win on your schedule. Every week in the SEC is a grind and nothing is guaranteed. Beating a UK team with SEC talent is a hell of a lot more impressive than beating UAB with CUSA talent. We win and we move up no question. Beating UAB by 5 points is not impressive, but beating UK by 7 is.
