We've had morals for 50 years and it hasn't given us a whole hell of a lot. This isn't church, it's college football. We're not hiring a preacher, we're hiring a college football coach in the Southeastern Conference. This is a cutthroat dog eat dog business and Mitch is forcing us to compete with one arm tied behind our backs because of his unwillingness to hire competitive (proven) winners like Petrino that might have questionable pasts.

There's a difference in breaking NCAA rules and being a terrible human being. Some folks don't value winning football games over everything. Some folks value morality over SEC titles. It's not irrational to think that. Why root for a team when you know your head coach is a terrible person? How can you tell your children to grow up to be good people yet you stand and cheer on Saturday's for a guy who is just a terrible person?

Actually HE DID. There were multiple quotes from Petrino's own father talking about how he was HIGHLY interested in the job. Instead Mitch felt that Petrino was below his high moral standards when it comes to football coaches. Dude was ripe for the picking and we passed him up because of Mitch's holier than thou attitude (when it comes to football, not basketball). No point in denying it at this point.
If Petrino is or was our only chance for winning then we're truly screwed. He's not just some ******* that has a few minor character flaws. I would be more than willing to give Jeff Brohm a chance to coach here. I think he's every bit the offensive coach Petrino is. And even though he played at UofL I think he's a likable person. If Western Kentucky has another successful season this year then I'm 100% sold on him being the next coach if we can get him.

How about that kid he screwed over in SC, the one that committed, and on signing day Petrino pulled his scholarship and gave it to another guy....left the SC kid hanging? The state was so mad they tried to bar him from recruiting in the state again.
