Could Kash emerge as that guy on D who leads them to better play?

I know I'm reaching a bit, but for them to play better, they are going to have to learn to play with more heart and energy. Somehow, they have to unite and demand better play from each other. They have to become a unit and play like it pisses them off to to let the other team move the ball. That will have to come from the players themselves, the coaches can't do that part. A strong leader has to step up. A freshman is unlikely to be that guy but Kash seems to have the intensity and swagger, and ability, to make things happen.

I think when a team is struggling you have to try different options in hope of finding someone that will step up and give the team a spark. Johnson and to a lesser degree Snell have done that for the offense. Daniel might well be in a spot to do the same for the defense. Obviously he can't single handed fix what we have lacked but he might be able to make a few big stops, and through his actions motivate others to pick up their game.

Got to start with the DL. As long as UK's DL is playing so passively who the LBers are probably won't matter.

Kash and Landon need to play a lot for us to get better. They are home grown talent who will run thru a wall for us. They need to show what a player is supposed to do

I agree but a push to play harder has to come or the entire season will look like the first 3 games. I'm not necessarily looking for a lb to make more plays, the defense just needs a spark. I'm hoping someone, anyone, can do that.

I don't think there is much doubt he is ready for the tackling and physical aspect of playing ILB, IF he has any issues it will likely be reading plays quick enough and in coverage. Being a true frosh I would think the staff would have someone else calling signals, his head will be spinning enough with what he is suppose to do.

Kash had a very nice ST tackle in the last game and seems to be big, fast and plays with enthusiasm. His day will come. I just hope fans are patient when it comes to a frosh LBer. Even though he was an early admit, that is a tough position to play.

Also had a nice lid-lifter block on Walker's punt return TD.
