They are 6-6 in the SEC, 16-10 overall....about the same RPI and SOS...

should move to 7-6 tonight with a win over Georgia...with games left @Miss, Tenn, and @Auburn....

LSU could be 19-11 and 9-7 in the SEC heading into the conference tourney....State could very well be 21-10 and 8-8 in the SEC heading into it

making it two monkey wrenches. UT about to beat OM to move to 7-6 in SEC.

entirely winnable. They have a few bad losses, but they have some very good ones, too... including one over us.

but they had some terrible losses in the OOC part of their schedule and their signature wins being Florida. I don't expect them to be in the same town as LSU in the NCAAT conversation.

against the top 50, but I was completely agreeing with you. If LSU finishes the season strong, they could really start a cluster17.

UT is making the tournament, I am saying they are hurting MSU the same way LSU is by finishing above MSU in conference play. UT is in line to get a first round bye in the SEC tournament. Making MSU play an extra game to win the SEC championship. That is a monkey wrench.

Getting the 5 or 6 seed would really guarantee us potentially 2 wins as opposed to one or even none. The 4 spot plays the winner of the 5/12 game (Alabama, LSU, Tennessee more than likely), then plays the winner of the 1/8 or 9 game (Let's just assume that will be Kentucky). At this point, we need wins more than seeding in the SECT. One or two wins could marginally help us and instead of coming out cold and trying to beat Alabama or LSU, we can get a win under our belt, then play them. There just isn't that much incentive to get the first round bye if you have to play Kentucky in the semi-final, anyway.

isn't a bad thing if we lose to Bama. You get a bad USC team, then a team we've already beaten at least once. RPI-wise, you'd want that to be Bama.

Auburn only has 2 losses at home and those were to Kentucky and Alabama. I actually think Auburn will beat LSU most likely sending them to the NIT. <div>
</div><div>FACT: Auburn is horrible on the road, but almost unbeatable at home. </div>

I was saying with LSU losing to Auburn their chances for the NCAA are quite slim. I wasn't saying Auburn was going anywhere. Just don't forget about Auburn's amazing home record.
