You thought incorrectly pssp. All conference champs are in, all teams with at least 6 wins are in, and the 5-4 teams with the best playoff points are in until we have 256.... that's it. Those are the only parameters used. How many teams per conference and how many conference teams per class have absolutely no bearing on the playoff field.

That was changed years ago. top 256 teams based on record than tie breakers (first being playoff points) are in regardless of conference size etc. Sorted into classes after 256 determined. So yes both are in

MC has had backs against the wall a couple times '03 and '14 with a must win for playoffs. I think if PC was 4-4 all bets off. I think MC wins. Yes, PC could play spoiler but just more to play for with MC.
