So looking up this guy... He criticizes the vaccines for lacking long term studies of their side effects, which is true, there aren't any yet, no debating that. Yet, he also claims the vaccine causes cancer and other autoimmune diseases.

Those aren't diseases that just pop up overnight, they generally take years to develop. So what long term studies has he or any other scientist conducted to determine the COVID vaccine causes cancer and autoimmune diseases like diabetes, arthritis, MS, IBD, celiac disease, etc.?

Also, he is a dermapathologist, aka skin condition doctor. He has no medical experience on training with infectious disease.

^ Mrna vaccines aren’t new. I have no idea why they’ve never been approved despite the fact they’ve been trying for decades. Maybe somebody does?

https://www.factcheck.org/2021/04/s...ess-claims-about-safety-of-covid-19-vaccines/

Norbert Pardi, a research assistant professor of medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, was the lead author of the paper. He told us in an email, “No publications demonstrate that mRNA vaccines cause cancer or autoimmune diseases.”

Pardi’s 19-page paper does make one passing reference to autoimmune diseases, which is what Cole highlighted to us.

The paper says: “A possible concern could be that some mRNA-based vaccine platforms induce potent type I interferon responses, which have been associated not only with inflammation but also potentially with autoimmunity. Thus, identification of individuals at an increased risk of autoimmune reactions before mRNA vaccination may allow reasonable precautions to be taken.”

But, Pardi explained, he and the other researchers included that passage because they wanted to note some potential concerns. However, he emphasized that “no scientific evidence has confirmed that these concerns are real.”

It’s also worth noting that the paper predated the COVID-19 pandemic by two years, so it doesn’t include any information specifically about the COVID-19 vaccines.

The study authors concluded that “individuals who have had SARS-CoV-2 infection are unlikely to benefit from covid-19 vaccination.” And in May, a Washington University study found that even a mild covid infection resulted in long-lasting immunity.

So, the emerging science suggests that natural immunity is as good as or better than vaccine-induced immunity. That’s why it’s so frustrating that the Biden administration has repeatedly argued that immunity conferred by vaccines is preferable to immunity caused by natural infection, as NIH director Francis Collins told Fox News host told Bret Baier a few weeks ago. That rigid adherence to an outdated theory is also reflected in President Biden’s recent announcement that large companies must require their employees to get vaccinated or submit to regular testing, regardless of whether they previously had the virus.

...

The incorrect hypothesis that natural immunity is unreliable has resulted in the loss of thousands of American lives, avoidable vaccine complications, and damaged the credibility of public health officials. Given the recent mandate announcement by the White House, it would be good for our public health leaders to show humility by acknowledging that the hypothesis they repeatedly trumpeted was not only wrong, but it may be harmful.

I personally knew three of those 62. None were vaxxed and one refused treatment. I'm having a lot of trouble wrapping my head around it today.

I'm afraid I'm going to know a lot more before the year's done.

No. They weren't "stupid" so much as products of environments that made them susceptible to misguidance, as most who are currently suffering from COVID-19 are. Most of us have been there at one point or another, so maybe try to show a little empathy.

The problem with natural immunity as the way to herd immunity is continued wide spread of the virus. How does that escape someone? And as we've all seen the unvaccinated are much more likely to have poorer outcomes.

Some of you talk about this metric and that metric like this isn't a big deal. I'm willing to bet you've not watch someone struggle to breathe while dying. And I'm not talking about your 30 minute visit here and there so you can feel good about yourself. Try it every day you go to work.

Antivaxxers love for this Regeneron stuff DeSantis is pumping out, because he gets money from the company, is interesting.

It's under an emergency use authorization. Therefore, it's an experimental treatment based on their definition of what an experimental treatment is.

It is not fully FDA approved, which makes it an experimental treatment based on their definition of what an experimental treatment is. Meanwhile, the Pfizer vaccine is fully FDA approved

Its clinical trials didn't start until June 2020, the same month the clinical trials for the first COVID vaccine started. Therefore, there are no long-term studies of the effects of the treatment, which they like to cite as a reason for not getting the vaccine. That also makes it an experimental treatment based on their definition of what an experimental treatment is.

Yet these folks that rail against the vaccines love Regeneron. Just shows how willingly these cult members are to be brainwashed by whatever their new false idol wants them to believe.

If you're refusing treatment, you're either stupid or are basically committing suicide. I won't say one way or the other if suicide is stupid in this case, I don't know what that person was going thru in their life. Perhaps being dead was considered a better outcome in their mind.

Oh, please. You're attempting to be cute now. Your "as well" statement about how smokers, heavy drinkers, and fat people are also a strain on the health system was clearly an attempt to refute the public interest argument by an enlarging the original issue about vaccines being in the public interest.

You were attempting (and failing) to refute the public interest argument about Covid vaccines by raising unrelated and irrelevant groups and thus drawing it to an extreme conclusion while never addressing the underlying point. In other words, you were replacing the real subject of the argument with a false one, which is part and parcel of what a strawman argument is, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Straw_man. Perhaps you need a refresher course in Logic yourself. I do agree that you're half-right in mentioning the red herring fallacy, as your post was also an attempt to misdirect, but then you say it wasn't, which is clearly disingenuous.

And nope, I'm thankfully not overweight, so you didn't hurt my feelings. Anyway, I hope I didn't hurt *your* feelings by dragging my rhetorical nuts across your rhetorical face and smearing your rhetorical makeup, princess.

This may sound like ******** but I swear on my life this happened. My best friends mom, who had no comorbidities, died from covid Wednesday. She absolutely refused to get the vaccine. . This lady was on the board of trustees at UK. I mean well educated. But refused to get the vaccine.

Her husband is 80 pounds overweight, has diabetes and has smoked his whole llife. He tested positive the same day his wife so he had already had it a while. Literally no problems.

I know that's just a personal story but as a respiratory therapist I hate seeing these people die a preventable death. If you don't want to do it I totally understand but I'm tired of these dying people who who soooooo regret not getting it then they die..

My cousin and uncle just passed from Covid. Out of the roughly 150 people I know that have had Covid, these are the first deaths. Both vaccinated. People, I don't think it really matters what you do. None of it makes sense.

Says the guys pushing a vax under EAU until a few weeks ago. Did you forget about all of that? Also, the only vax you can get currently is under EAU, as the FDA approved vax is not currently being distributed.

Also pumping the Desantis story to discount the monoclonal treatment is the definition of misinformation. That stuff is saving lives and should be discussed as much as possible. Also it’s hilariously hypocritical to accuse Desantis of profiting from a covid treatment while ignoring the bank statements of one Dr Fauci.

I’ve known many who are vaxed and still used the monoclonal after getting a breakthrough. It should absolutely not be discounted in the name of pumping the vax. It’s not an either or scenario.

I’m all for Regeneron as a treatment. I have no concerns if someone wants to use it.

It’s the hypocrisy on the right I am pointing out. How you going to rail against the vaccine for many of the same criteria Regeneron? If the vaccines are a no-no because they were under EUA, why is Regeneron all good under an EUA?

It doesn’t make sense. Alas, I should not be surprised, the anti-vaccine crowd doesn’t live in a reality based on facts but instead of one based in Facebook memes, brainwashing, and grifting. They listen to the exact same ones that are vaccinated but pump out all the BS because it will get viewers and listeners. Like Fox News, if you aren’t vaccinated there you have to wear a mask on the job. Look who’s not wearing masks, all the TV personalities that keep spreading BS lies about the vaccine. If they believed all of it, why did they willingly get vaccinated? The conspiracy theorists and anti-vaccine folks are all a grift catering to the easily manipulated. Always has been, always will be. Folks fall for it so easily but are convinced it’s everyone else who is a sheep 🤣

Also, Pfizer is still being distributed. My clinic just bought 100 vials yesterday. Our hospital system is also only vaccinating with Pfizer. The local pharmacies that are vaccinating are largely vaccinating with Pfizer. If it’s not being distributed anymore, then how are we so easily able to obtain it?

Stop spreading lies.

Good lord are you really that ignorant? Just do a basic google search to see if you’re taking an FDA approved vaccine. Hint, you’re not. The phizer being distributed is still being done so under an EAU. It’s also not “anymore”, the FDA approved Comirnaty is not and has not ever been distributed.

Also, I’m vaxed, so definitely not anti vax, but extremely anti vax mandate.

It’s the same vaccine. The formula and ingredients for it haven’t changed since it got EUA approval.

In the FDA approval, it actually does state there are slight differences. Thats irrelevant though, as it can be 100% identical and you're still not taking an FDA approved vaccine anywhere in the country today. Every vaccine currently being administered is being done so by EAU, and that's not disputable.

My wife is an ICU Nurse outside of Baltimore and has worked almost exclusively with COVID patients for about a year now. She has horror stories for days. But what you typed is the biggest thing for her and her coworkers now. The plea for help by those not choosing to get vaccinated when they are in the ICU is exhausting to her.

I’m sure it is. How does she feel about the patients who plea for help who have been vaccinated? Just curious…

Have 2 friends who fit that description.

She feels so much more empathy for them than those who flat out refuse the vaccine for no other reason than they feel like they don't need it, think it's all a sham, etc. Her treatment with them is all the same, but her empathy is totally different. The last year and a half has been hell for ICU nurses on the front line of COVID.

I feel vaccination status is irrelevant when it comes to treating someone who needs help. People make choices every day health care providers may not agree with, but it’s their job to care for them in a professional manner without prejudice.

There are hospitals currently offering a lower level of care for unvaccinated patients who aren’t even being treated for covid. Have a good friend dealing with exactly that at Cedars Sinai in LA as we speak. It’s approaching malpractice.

There is nothing cute about it, at all. Your own story would be considered cute. Once again, I'm a respiratory therapist at one of the best respiratory hospitals in the state. We've had close to 20 covid deaths so far. And not one of them was vaccinated. I constantly said in my comment I understand why some v won't get. But I'd like to add you're playing with fire. I don't agree with forcing people to get it either. Almost everyone that's died at my hospital didn't even think it was real and wish they got vaccinated. So do what you think is right but we're never gonna get back to normal.

I know this wasn't meant to me but as a respiratory therapist I'd like to answer the question. I care for my patients the same across the board. Vaccinated or not. Black or white, Democrat or Republican ect.

He's right that the unvaccinated get treated way worse at hospitals. Not mine, but I've heard more than enough from friends working at different hospitals. To me that's that's breaking the hippocratic oath.

Thank you for confirming this. I've been working in the covid unit myself since March. It is extremely hard to tell people they'll be ok right before we put them on ventilators know they won't make it. Sounds like your wife is a BOSS. Thank you for sharing.
