I take vitamin D and a multi-vitamin also and it didn't help at all except maybe to shorten the after effects. Most of the symptoms that have been described plus dehydration. Tomorrow I'm officially fully vaccinated! Guess we'll find out later how long that lasts.
Yeah I was already taking Vitamin D supplements before all this Covid crap. On my blood test, it showed up crazy low so I have to take supplements anyway.

Me and my wife got both of our 2nd doses about a week ago. She had pfizer and had no real issues besides arm soreness and didn't take any other meds. I got my 2nd dose of Monderna and had no issues but a sore arm. She is 39 and I am 42 so not sure what the sweet spot is to not have any major issues.

I wonder if some of that is mass hysteria.
Probably, but folks I know had a couple days sickness with Moderna and J&J. I had Pfizer which seems to be the best one if you can get it. Nobody I know was seriously ill though and I think you have to be out of your mind not to get whichever shot you can get. My whole family managed to get ours on the first day of eligibility as I was aggressive in making the reservations.

J&J Wed for me and Thurs for the wife. I was good and last night felt a little achy and crashed early. Wife came home from work and went straight to sleep. She's still tired. 41 & 38. I have the superior immune system and she has a smaller brain so makes sense.

Guess I have at least one sister out of her mind. Figured as much. I hear her FB posts are a hoot.

Ignore the DA's, people. Just keep getting those shots.
I agree, though it's up to each person to decide whether it is in his or her best interest to do so.

Do you think it would help if the powers that be would stop gloating about "you'll still have to wear a mask even AFTER you get the shot, you'll STILL have to socially distance, you STILL shouldn't travel, etc, etc, this thing will NEVER be over"? I never paid any attention to that nonsense to begin with, but others do, and that's hardly an incentive for them to get the shot.

Second Pfizer Wednesday. Arm got sore and a very minor fever that evening. It was just enough to mess up my sleep really. It was a fraction of the reaction to an MMR vaccine I had years ago and nothing much compared to the second shingles shot I need to be getting soon according to my pharmacist. BTW, wife didn't even get the sore arm either shot. Most of my family are in healthcare or public service so they have all been vaccinated and the only ones to get sick at all are the younger ones, in their 30s. ( I know, anecdotal evidence....)

I still plan on masking up in stores and social distancing. Doing that has cut the number of meaningless, impromptu conversations with strangers pretty much down to zero, and that's a good thing, not to mention it prevents standing in line close to someone who may be running a day late on a bath, forgot to use deodorant, or used half a bottle of cologne or perfume that morning.

So serious question....damn me if ya want...im not getting this injection under any circumstances.....i have encouraged my own mom and some fam to do it. I don't stand against it for them at all. i have advocated for some of them wholeheartedly to do it. I am not going to whatsoever. At this point I would rather roll with my own health and point a eff you and die by it then do it. Not happening.

So question? When I have to start offing you guys....one...not personal...no like zombies..just me...leave your safes open or some codes written down.. Whatever. Breaking in isn't my skill. Some of the biggest health scourges in history have been all but eliminated by vaccines; measles, diphtheria, tetanus, whooping cough, hepatitis B and polio to name a few.

Ignorance and superstition have always been obstacles to science in general and vaccines in particular. In the movie Apocalypse Now Marlon Brando's deranged character tells a story about natives cutting off the arms of vaccinated children.

So your own ignorance is not novel. You're just one more bumpkin that must be navigated around in order for the rest of the world to proceed. You've substituted the hard work and often times miraculous work that has gone on heroically on all our behalves with your own ignorant fear of what you hopelessly cannot understand.

Wife and I got Pfizer1 last week.

Me: Sore arm for 48 hours, mild lightheadedness immediately after that passed with a drink of water, mild fatigue and dehydration for about 24 hours. Slept like a rock the second night.

Wife: Sore arm, moderate fatigue, loss of appetite for 36 hours. She went to bed early and slept 14 hours the night of.

We’re due for round 2 at the end of he month.

Nah, if you're healthy and know the science, you are taking a totally unnecessary risk injecting a novel vaccine for a novel virus.

You can manage your own risk and take it to virtually zero, if not, then yeah, you should get vaccinated.

It's not in my interest to scare you from it or shame you idiots, because I want you vaxed in any case, but that's what you are. Instead of just riding it out and benefiting from herd immunity, you've chosen the fear and illusion of understanding that comes with your herd mentality.

Yeah, that's true.

You can see that by looking at Israel's data, where they've vaccinated some 60% of the population, which has led to some 30 cases per million per day.

If you are a healthy Isreali walking around still not vaccinated, your odds of dying to covid are significantly worse than a whole slew of unlikely events, like being struck by lightning.

The only reason then to take the vaccine is to be a team player. You can still just continue to socially isolate though if that is your true goal, would just be as effective.

Well, I kind of hope people that refuse to get the vaccine get Covid. I don’t want you to die but maybe just no taste or smell for a long time and maybe a bad case of tinnitus.
That's probably just cause you're a POS.

I don't wish illness on anyone, and don't think there's really anything wrong with people taking the vaccine, certainly not those who are at risk and who can't/won't manage the risk.

But let's be real here, you are scared sheep. Baaa!

It's not about the odds of you dying you imbecile its about the odds of you spreading it and the percentage of hospitalizations required for those infected. Death rate, while tragic, was never the real danger of COVID-19, it was the hospitalization rate overwhelming available hospitals which would then dramatically drive up death rates.

If nothing would have been done in the United States last year (a la "ride it out") then every hospital bed in the United States would have been full by May. You have a highly contagious virus that when uncontrolled hospitalizes up to 20% of those infected by it. It spreads so fast that once detected in the US just a few months later it could have completely overwhelmed our entire healthcare system, that's why they walked into Trump's office and said everything had to be shut down or you're going to have people dying in waiting rooms and parking lots all over the country and not just the COVID patients. Nobody has room for treatment. Wreck your car, get put in a trailer out in the parking lot and best of luck to you.

This. Personally, I'm waiting for my turn which should come in the next week or so. I've definitely noticed on this site the ones who have screamed for life to be normal again have also been the ones spreading nonsense about the vaccine and acting as if it's a death shot, or at least calling others "sheeple" for taking it.

Hey pricks, people getting the vaccine means you'll get to go back to the Cracker Barrel soon. It'd be smart to just say how glad you are that people are taking it and not acting like this is your personal facebook page.

You can take the odds of spreading it to zero just by limiting social contact to outdoors. They've contact traced one in a thousand transmissions to the outdoors; you are much more likely to shed if you are symptomatic, and if you periodically space those social interactions sufficiently, you could never even be an asymptomatic carrier.

One could easily do this if they wanted to, provided they had the means to do so. To be clear, I'm not saying that if your job requires frequent close contact with people, you're elderly, or you just can't stop eating twinkies every day and are intent on getting type 2 diabetes, that you're an idiot for getting vaccinated.

It's this attitude, among others, that I deem idiocy - part of the mass delusion and hysteria.

Come on, get on board! Be like Mike! Get your vaccine so you can finally get back to your Gluttonous ways, boys!

The water's, err, sweet tea's fine, boys!

There was no mass delusion or hysteria in my post. I also didn't demand that everyone take it. I just think it'd be smart to not criticize those who are taking it or call people here idiots. Just because you've chosen not to, doesn't make you smarter than everyone else, or them sheep. Just sit back and wait for things to reopen, which is beginning to happen because people are taking the vaccine. Simple as that. You seem to be the one spreading hysteria in an otherwise calm thread.

Nah, that's not what I meant. I fully support everyone taking the vaccine, and wish you good health in doing so.

I wouldn't have even responded if I didn't see you idiots attempting to poison and corrupt my no-vax brother, in other words precisely what you just accused me of.

To vaccinate or not should be entirely the prerogative of the individual.

Im a healthcare worker that works with a lot of older people and it just made sense to me to take it versus taking my chances with a lab engineered Chinese virus. My father is also 83 and I just felt more comfortable being vaccinated around him. We’re slowly opening up and getting back to normal, and the vaccines have rapidly sped up the process. Not sure why you keep posting like a hysterical woman with weird insults and grandiose theories. How about you just relax and let people do what they want and don’t be so judgmental? It’s all good man, it’ll be alright.

And that post is why you virus lovers are so absolutely despised by normal people. People like you are horrid, and this "pandemic" only makes you more so. What kind of a person hopes that someone will catch a virus, because they don't want to get vaccinated? Are you aware that some people are legitimately afraid of it, often because of legitimate health issues?

I have no interest in being a team player. We're are NOT "all in this together"; it's every man for himself. But I reluctantly took the vaccine anyway, so I can have a new passport. Of course by the time it is realistic to travel internationally, without restrictions, I'll probably have to "renew" my new "passport", so I guess the joke is on me. I should have just waited.

False. The shots is the way to go. Vaccine risk is less than the disease risk - no one has died of the vaccine yet, no death certificate saying such. Herd immunity isn't happening. What we're going to is an endemic situation like the flu. It will remain around. Risk way reduced and way less with vaccine. Risk is low w/o vaccine, so odds are nothing will happen w/o vaccine, but I prefer the lowest risk. But being obstinate for no good reason is OK.
