My elderly neighbors haven't taken a shot yet. Said waiting for J&J one shot vaccine. Why people wanting for it's availability that than just get it over with ?

Some people (right or wrong) are more comfortable with that company and traditional vaccine technology. Plus only one shot.
2nd shot in the books. Other than a sore arm, absolutely no reaction.

I toughed it out with a fish sandwich on rye Punkin Puss.
Ok got Moderna #2 at 3pm yesterday afternoon. I’m 56 years old. Started taking Tylenol when I got home after taking the shot. So far just a sore arm. No aches, sweating or chills. My 26 year old daughter got the same shot, but she’s feeling the aches/chills/sweating. Tylenol is helping but still feeling the side effects. My wife gets her second shot this morning but she’s getting the Pfizer.
Wanted to update as I posted about my first Moderna shot experience and just got my second yesterday at 4pm.
Woke up this morning not feeling hot. Arm is sore again, very groggy, headache when I coughed, and nausea.
Got worse as the morning progressed. By 9 I had a low grade fever of 99.5. 5:30 now and all listed symptoms are still there with a slightly worse headache and fever is now 101.2. I’m 28 years old so seems to fall in line with my age group.

I got Pfizer shot #2 about 4 hours ago and my wife got hers 8 hours ago.

I got the first of two Pfizer shots yesterday at the horse park. No side effects other than a sore arm. Hopefully the second will be about the same.
Pfizer. Both shots... last a couple weeks back. Sore arm for both but no other problems. Most other people around me got the Moderna and they were terribly sick after the 2nd shot for a couple days.
I got the J&J today and I have exactly the same symptoms that I probably would have had if I caught the virus (which, for all I know, I already have caught....I have never had an antibody test), absolutely nothing.
Gawd no, that fish would be swimming back upsteam for me.
Went to bed had teeth chattering chills with 2 blankets on top. Then 4 hours later I was burning up with a temp @102 till it broke.
Better today, still a dull headache and soreness.
Never had a flu shot, so not sure if I'd have a similar reaction.

Only thing I noticed yesterday was that I was a bit tired feeling throughout the day. Not enough that it kept me from mowing my yard yesterday evening.
Side effects seem to run from nothing to feeling like crap.
It's been a little over 24 hours since my second shot.
I woke up with a slight headache and feeling a little cruddy. Took some Tylenol and felt a little better. Headache has gotten worse in the last hour but still not bad.
I had no issues after the first shot.

My wife and I both had our second dose almost 3 weeks ago.
I was perfectly fine except for a sore arm. She was in bed all weekend with fever/chills and a migraine.

2nd Moderna shot Friday afternoon. Was prepared for the worst - but very mild reaction. A little congestion Saturday morning, a little achy, and kind of tired. And that's it. The guy at Walgreens that shot me said there's an age - above 40 but below 60 and they don't know precisely - where the reaction to the shots becomes a very minor thing. I finally found something good about getting older, apparently.
What does our reaction to the shots tell us about what our reaction to covid would have been? Nothing or does it mean something?
My mom's 70 and she got her second shot last week. She said she was really, really tired the next day, but that she was otherwise fine -- same deal as her first shot. My stepdad's in his mid-70s, just got his first shot, and suffered no side effects at all. Here's hoping his second goes well as well.
Had my first shot yesterday. Yup, Easter Sunday. Looked on Friday afternoon and Walgreens had plenty of openings yesterday. Booked me and my fiancee for noon and 12:15, we got it done on our way to her parents' house for Easter brunch. Pfizer/BionTech.
Fiancee keeps asking me if my arm hurts, she told me today that her arm throbs. I have no problem with my arm, there's a little pain if I press on my upper arm, but that's it. I'm 50, she's 53.
I did lay down around 7pm last night and sleep through until 4:30 am this morning, which had a little to do with 1) a shot of Fireball and a couple shots of Tequila at the Easter get-together, and the fact that I woke up at ~2am Sunday morning, but the shot probably contributed as well.
2nd shot scheduled for May 2nd.

I disagree. The fact that someone has a strong negative reaction to the vaccine is probably indicative that the person would have a strong negative reaction to the virus. I hope that this is looked into more extensively.
I got my second Moderna at 9 AM. At 9 PM I went for a jog with no symptoms. At midnight I felt like I had a red wine hangover. I took a hot shower and went to bed. At 3 AM, I woke up and felt like I had a red wine hangover, plus AIDS, stage IV pancreatic cancer, Ebola, and the Black Plague all at the same time. Woke up around 9 AM and had a 102 degree temperature. Took a couple Advil, went to work, and by 3 PM I was fine. Went for another jog at 7 PM with no issues.
Well it's my only chance to get away from my wife.
Maybe a strong reaction to the vaccine is due to your body working in overdrive to produce antibodies and T-cells to combat the invader.
Seems people 40's and younger are having stronger reactions and usually have more robust immune systems.
Would be interesting if they collect the data. I'm surprised they didn't randomly ask some being vaccinated for a blood sample to check such thing as Vit D levels.
What kind of man drinks wine much less to the point of a hang over? If you have been drinking whiskey you wouldn't need a vaccine.

No cold like side effects at all. Arm was a little sore. Glad to get the process started and hopefully life back to normal.
The only thing I've noticed is this constant beep I keep hearing. Almost like a chirp from a beacon. Not sure what that is but I find in a little annoying.

Took my second shot a week ago at 8am. Felt fine until about 3am following morning (woke up with chills and body aches - mostly lower back)
Very fatigued, achy, and chilled until about 3pm that afternoon. Each passing hour I would feel exponentially better until I was fully recovered around 7p.
My wife and I got our 2nd Moderna shot a week ago.
She got pretty sick with a fever and terrible body aches for around 24-30 hours.
I only had slight body aches and felt a bit fatigued a couple of days. I do take a 2,000 IU Vitamin D everyday. I wonder if that helped me with side effects.
I’m not complaining for myself, but am sorry my wife got as sick as she did.

I thought this was funny too. Jim Bakker and Steve Quayle not so much.
Same with my wife, she got the second Moderna shot and for about 24 hours felt horrible, was in bed all day which never happens with her. I have my second shot in a week which is Pfizer. I take ALOT of Vitamin D, two 5,000 IU plus what's in my multi-vitamin, so we'll see if that helps too.
Wife and I got shot #2 (Pfizer) today at Broadbent. Feeling fine so far. Nothing witty to say.

I take vitamin D and a multi-vitamin also and it didn't help at all except maybe to shorten the after effects. Most of the symptoms that have been described plus dehydration. Tomorrow I'm officially fully vaccinated! Guess we'll find out later how long that lasts.
My and wife have had both doses of the Pfizer vaccine. Other than my left arm being sore for 1/2 day, the day after the 2nd shot..same with her..other than..no side effects at all.
Just keep getting them, folks. That's all.
