About 10 years ago, the SEC decided that it was too confusing to have one set of rules for conference games and a different set of rules for non-conference games, so they just said that their rules applied to ALL games. That is a fact. Now, in practice, the rules haven't been enforced for non-conference games as strictly as for conference games, but the rule absolutely does apply to all home games. The only loophole would be if we could convince a non-conference road opponent to let us bring cowbells, the SEC would have no say there. I'm not holding my breath on that happening.
